Is it me or Are a lot of People Selling their TC?
Hey as i browse the forums and check on autotrader and such i have seen a lot of people selling their TC or trading it on something else. I dont know if this is just me thinking this or does anybody else notice a lot of people moving on from Scion?
What are the reasons some of you guys/girls moved on from the TC.
Better Job?
Car Problems?
High Milage?
Dislike?
Ive only had my car for a year and so and have modded the crap out of it and love it, and dont see myself getting over it anytime soon, being in school dont have an income to buy a new car either.
Has the Loved Died?

I haven't noticed though I think the love has somewhat died. I have a first (2005 model) and I am ready for a new car. I myself am still a college student and with the economy right now, no one really wants to buy a car or has the money to buy a new car. Plus as an american, we always like new things that are bigger and better and the tC has been around since 04 (sold as 05 model) and people are ready for something new. Thats just my opinion though, I could be wrong.
its not just the tc, as the car gets old people want to get rid of it and start fresh.. the tc being used as a project car and being the car of the youth and those on college thats normal for the tc to be traded in after the project is done and when people get their profession and start earning bigger dollars.. thats the its fate lol.. I still love my tc and what i did to it.. still never want to trade it to a stock 350z, g35, lexus yada2x, that unless i get a lil old for modding my car or have the money to modify those expensive cars on top of high insurance and monthly payments
i want to sale mine to upgrade. im tired of every little mod not being CARB legal, being in LA that is one of the most annoying things.
i dont want to have to stress every time i see a cop, and at the same time i want more power because i cant keep up with my crew which consist of a '07 mustang gt, modded sti, 08' bmw 328i anddd yeah its not impossible to keep up but it is a challenge

I think it's just a natural occurrence. There are people who will keep their cars for a long time but on average i think people will get new ones every 4 to 5 years. The first wave of tc owners is coming up on their fourth year of ownership.
So i think we will see it rise a little bit more and then level off.

stupidity mostly? I will never understand why someone would trade a 4 year old car in unless its having major problems or they are seriously wealthy, the loss you take is just mind boggling... I can see myself keeping the car for several more years probably even several years past college, when the day comes for a new car I will probably still keep and and use it to practice mods on if im still interested at that point.
My friend traded his tC for a new Civic Si. He had a ZPI stage zero turbo and suspension and other mods and got bored with the car because of its limitations, the speed cut was a big one. He had his share on racing and beating other cars but was time to move on. All the cars around blow past that speed factory and handle better so he upgraded.
This is where I say Toyota fell of the wagon. I don't think a lot of Scion owners jump into another Toyota, or what I've noticed of tC owners. Taking looks at posts here they upgrade to Evo's, STi's, G35's, 350Z's before anything. I've seen one for a Tacoma and if you want to add Lexus then an IS. In regards to a true sports car Toyota loses out with nothing to offer which has me saying that. Toyota may get more xB, xA, xD owners to bite but I find them difficult to get a tC owner to get into a Toyota, they'll skip to Lexus having the funds or go another brand. For myself I don't see me getting into a NEW Toyota.

I'm not in the market for a FWD econo-sporty-coupe that gets 27mpg anymore. Times change.
If Toyota/Scion made a diesel sedan like the TDI's, I'd be all over them... but they don't.

i completely agree, i went to a Toyota dealer and they offered one of the best trade in values, but the thing is..i dont want a new toyota or scion. if they had a used 350 g35 or s2k on their lot then i might be down, but most dont trade the Z or the G for a new toyota
all good things come to an end....people grow up and cars get old......i get bored so i buy a new xB2.....with 10k trade in for the tC a new car at $170/month for 5 yrs? (car's going to get paid off in 2 just like the tC by making higher payments) why the hell not?
