I saw a chevy Aveo on the highway last week towing a motorcycle trailer so i can't really see why a tC couldn't handle it, although i can understand why the manual would advise against it. If something fails it's not on them to fix it.

you pull at your own risk.
I would think it would look like a blemish to see a hitch on the tC.

If think you're going really fast passing the car towing that trailer, relax, you're not.
It's just the weight of the boat pulling the tC back down the hill.

Does anyone know why Scion does not recommend towing? “Scion also does not recommend the installation of a tow hitch or the use of a tow hitch carrier for a wheelchair, scooter, bicycle, etc.” A bicycle doesn’t weight much, so it’s obviously not a weight/power issue. Does it have something to do with the body/frame??

Don't forget, Mr. '#1 in the trailer hitch club' also thought his tC was rear wheel drive, and put snow tires on the rear.

Why would anyone be surprised to find him making another ill-advised decision? He's #1 for a good reason.

Don't forget the picture of his tC that for some reason says "Frankie Muniz" on the side. The one he races on his friends farm.

They dont reccomend towing because the unibody, transmission, etc is not built to handle it. Just because an aveo had a trailer behind it doenst mean it will handle it for long either. Someone doing it != the car liking it.

That answers the other questions.. the op posts crap like this all the time.

I would love to see the FWD TC pull a boat out of the water on a "soaked" inclined boat launch ramp especially with stock tires that struggle to get traction on wet days pulling nothing.
