mileage question
does anyone know what causes the odometer to rack mileage? if your car is getting towed (with the engine off) but rear wheels on the ground, does that increase mileage?
if mileage only goes up when the engine is on, does letting the car idle or reving the engine in neutral increase mileage?

its goes by tire rotations thats why if u have wheels that are not manufacturer spec ur mileage wont be correct , as well gas mileage and top speeds.
odometer moves with the car whether its on or off

Man, looks like we need to get back to basics in our schools.

If having aftermarked wheels put on, is there anyway to reset the odometer and even the speedometer to your new wheel size so its correct? Thats just not right not knowing your milage and your speed.

I know there is a way to recalibrate your odometer. I believe that it is even against the law to not do it. Maybe that was just Louisiana though. As far as the odometer goes, I would think there has to be a way to do that. Never know though since all the possibilities of tampering with it if there is a way.
