Default Mod vs. Pref

So I was looking at some profiles and noticed that someone listed there oil filter and synthetic oil as a power mod. Is this just me or is that a preferance, not a modification? I saw two or three people with this in there list of mods.

more likely than not, it's a joke. Just like there are some people that put stickers as a power mod...only a joke

I guess they changed the brand of oil, so it's TECHNICALLY a modification. I would never list it as a power mod, but some people obviously did.

it's the same as saying, I added octane booster, or Slick 50, or fuel cleaner.... not a mod. "Changing" to a different brand of oil cant be a mod. Thats the same as saying, I got gas at the Mobil station on 1 fill, and Shell the next.
But it is what it is..... ppl can put whatever they believe is a mod.

I have bad news. I changed my oil the other day and had my friend helping me. I asked him to put the drain bolt in the oil pan. he put it in and I heared him tighten it down with the rachet. he said he thought something wasn't right with it. so I climbed under to see no gap on one side, and a gap big enought to put a dime under on the other side. he crossed the threds and then tightened it. I was not awear of this tell after I put in the oil. there is a small leak. if the threds have been damaged can I re thread it? should I buy a new pan? someone suggested I put tefflon tape around the bolt and stick it back in. what do you guys think?

You can try to rethread, but with a bigger thread. This means you won't be able to use the stock bolt.

Personally I would just rethread, assumming you have the tools. This would probably be the quickest and cheapest route.

people list things to make their list longer so people think they are "cool" cuz they have a long list of things...just like when they turbo their car, some people will list off EVERY piece of the turbo instead of just saying...dezod stage 0/zpi stage 1 or something like that.

little do they know the people who read though get a nice giggle at, floor mats, oil filter. etc.

i know people are going to say this is meaningless, but my butt dyno felt the difference of using synthetic oil. but i didn't think to list it as a power mod...seems as frivolous as saying i fill up at chevron with techron gas!
