Modding is an Addiction.
Man. When I first got my car I figured. Just a few things. nothing too huge, Some rims and tint should be good. When I bought my car I got it with a sway, so that kept me happy for a few months. Having a brand new car just messing around with it was fun. Then I decided to get some Cold cathodes from Oznium and getting some lights on the inside of my car, which is where it all started pretty much. Well that made me happy for a few weeks. After some time I felt like I needed something else. So I got new rims and tires for my whip. A few weeks after that I wanted something new again so I got myself an Escort Passport 8500 X50(if you can call that a mod really). Now I'm about to buy some more lights from Oznium just to keep me busy while I wait to get my Hotchkis springs . I don't even know where I'm going to put the lights but I feel like I need more mods! When Will It End? We need mod rehab

It's actually not a funny subject. I'm 33 now and look at all the money I wasted since buying my first car a month before my 16th birthday and adding wheels shortly after.
Enjoy yourself but get a grip at the same time. I have blown at least 150k on vehicles and mods in my 17 years of driving. I should either be driving a Ferrari or put even more money away.
33 may seem old at 17 but I feel far from old and the time went by pretty quick. I would rather have that extra 100K + in the bank now then all the modded cars and bikes I had. Keep it simple, sensible, and in check.
Cars lose a lot of money on their own let alone aftermarket mods that you may get pennies for on resale.

Ya, my car is the reason I don't have an apt or house yet (living with family atm). I got caught up on a LOT of bills (thankfully!) and then was like "wait a sec... i have some $ for my car now!" And then the buying began.
The last thing I'm planning right now is an amp to go with the sub/box set aside... but I already have an idea on how to buy it without spending $ out of pocket.
Then I should be OK for a while. Except I really would like to get Oznium's full TBL... and then...

yeah it might be an expensive hobby, but i think its well worth it. Ive only spent alittle over 1k and sometimes, when im in need of money, i wonder why? but then i look at my car, drive my car or get a few good comments about my car and that all goes away. I think of it differently. a friend of mine loves guitars. hes very good at playing, has a very different kinds, editing software speakers and whatever. im sure hes spent alot more than me but it does the same thing for him, it makes him happy. like i said its just a hobby.

true.. so addictive and expensive. Just know to put some limits and you should be good.... mods are better than having a habit of trading in cars though in my opinion at least after sometime you'll be done paying for the car, but as for the debts from mods.. its another story...

^^ only to those kind members of SL. If I continue to handle my saved money correctly (which would require immediate stopping of further mods ) I could do the little Horse in a few.....

Poor Hans.........
I know your pain........but enjoy it..........
First car 67 Chevelle.......paid $600 for car..........$15,000 later wrecked got $1500 insurance.....
Second car....65 Mustang............paid $4000.........sold for $5000 and only drove it 3000 miles..........
Third car..........69 Camero SS..........paid $3500...........dumped $12,000 into motor and still was primered..........sold for $6000
Fourth car 76 Camero...........paid $3000 and put $10,000 into........wrecked....insurance gave $1400.
Fifth car........70 GTO.........put nearly $8,000 into motor and drive train...........car stolen.........she was 10.42 in the 1/4 mile on street tires.......got kicked off the track due to regulations on speed and car did not meet them.........
So have fun with it.............when you hit your mid thirties............you will look back and enjoy the times you had............
By the way.........never sell your car for a minivan due to child arriving...........they will fit in the back seat........BZ
