Never had that problem. I assume if the car was at best buy they were doing something to the stereo, right? The mode button is part of a big harness that you have to take off to get off the main trim piece that you remove to get to the radio. They could have hooked it back up incorrectly (but i'd be surprised if that was the only button that didn't work) or maybe they could have even pulled one of the wires in the harness. Take that thing back. That's why I hate "professional" installations - they always end up screwing things up.

Take it back to Best Buy. Scion will probably not work on it once they see any mods to the dash/stereo, etc.

cheers guys, yeah took it to best buy the guy quickly pulled the facia off again and he mis-alligned that part, all fixed now. However they did scratch the facia on the initial install, sent me to get one from Scion Parts ($130) and they installed the new one for me. Really not a bad process, just a pain in the ___. But all good now! fingers crossed!

i used to work for bestbuy but not in car audio, but im sure they use wire harnesses. That way it doesn't void your warrantee. But ill take it back to bestbuy b/c they broke it so they should fix it.

whoa whoa...where'd you get the new fascia? I dropped mine during my install...ironically right after thinking it was going to fall...but before I could catch it. I've got some nice grooves in it

We are talking about the "metal" grey surround right? I got it direct from toyota parts.. and of course best buy picked up the bill, mine only has a few scratches on it (the one they f'ed up) very minor, but hey if they are paying for a new one why the hell not.
