Default Modification List/Order

Im looking to upgrading my tC with some new parts and was curious what people have done and what order they did it. Did you lower it first then exhaust or was the sound first then intake. That type of thing. Im looking to do some cheap mods first preferably but if one mod is more imprtant than another ill reconsider. Im holding off on lowering because of the roads on long island are filled with pot holes and my friends civic that is lowered has gien him so many problems because he cant drive certain roads or go into certain parking lots that i often go into now.

My only mod so far is the angel eyes.

so when do you plan on putting some springs then? Springs were my 1st mod? the tC looks 194836826935 times better with some type of springs! Depends on what you get too! It gets rid of the ugly wheel gap!

I would go with springs first. No matter what else you change you will still notice that ugly wheel gap! The roads shouldn't be to much of a problem if you go with a modest drop like TRD or H&R sport. Those springs will get rid of the wheel gap and still let you drive without worrying.

springs would be the best choice out there. At least the TRD springs or something to get that wheel gap. You dont wanna put an exhaust on yet since your car still looks 4x4 and that will look ugly. Rims would be good but then you still have that wheel gap and if you go bigger then your tC will look even more of a 4x4.

springs would be the best thing! Seriously!

Well, I'm buying the car this week, monday most likely. It already has:

K&N CAI
Tints
Kamanari CF Hood
TRD Exhaust
Underbody LED

I think thats it, offhand.

My first planned mods (in order)....

Springs and Struts, I was thinking Tein S Tech Springs with the TRD Strut set.
TYC Tails
Hotchkins Swaybar Set
Underdrive Pulley
Complete Audio Overhaul
the Optima Billet Tray Battery holder with battery
Quicklift Hood kit
AW Throttle Body
New headers (undecided, still researching)
CF Engine Cover
Magnaflow Catback
Turbonetics Turbo kit

etc etc

I dont plan on doing alot of visual exterior mods until I've got it performing to back up the fluff.

i would go with springs first too, i consider it a performance mod, and a body mod, and you cant go wrong with that.

Any springs are good, but i live in NYC as well, so i opted for the highest springs, the TRD springs. They drop the car nicely but not too much that you bottom out on the potholes.

My mod list/order:

Springs
Interior and Exterior LEDs
Custom engine cover
LED parking lights
Toyo Aux Adapter
Injen intake
Gauge and HVAC leds
Custom shift boot

i def. agree with yanki, that the springs make it look SO much better. i live on Long Island, and i am always in queens, and have driven it into the city as well. the potholes are annoying yes, but will not kill you. the springs are a must.

TRD Springs, ground FX kit, lip spoiler, TRD exhaust and hotchkiss sway bar (all dealer access.) i had put on almost right away.

I went with the rear sway bar. For the money and ease of installation, there is really no better first mod.

Tires. The ones the manufacturer provides you with are horrendous. Also, unless you plan on F/I, a rim+tire combo is one of the single biggest purchases you'll make. Better to get it out of the way before life intervenes.

yeah, I'm thinking of tires. The Turanzas are a bit better than what I had on the Corolla, but mostly because there's more surface area on the road (I forget what the Corolla had, but it was definitely not 215/45 ZR17). Anyone driven the Avon 550 or PZero Neros in the snow with the 17" rims? I've done snowstorms in the Corolla, so it can't be worse as long as I go slow.

The other thing I'm considering is white LED dome lights, which looks like the easiest mod besides the shift ****. I had a friend who kitted out an '84 Grand Prix with custom-made LED light modules on everything except the headlights; it looked brilliant.

When I get my Scion in the next week or two, here are a few things I am doing...

Tein S. springs.
Rims.
HKS Exhaust.
Smoke Tailight overlays.
Audio system.
Varad LED underglow.
TRD Cupercharger.
DC Header.
ZPI crank pulley.

Pretty much in that order. First 6 will be done in less then a month, then the rest will be in about three months down the road.
