moonroof spoiler breakage

Default moonroof spoiler breakage

just resently i was driving down the highway and a rock flew up and shattered the spoiler on my moonroof...wonderin if anyone else has had this problem and what they did about it????

Spoiler on your mooroof? Are you talking abotu the wind deflector? What you can do about it is have it replaced. Call your Toyota dealership and ask them to order one for you.

yeah.....that's about all you CAN do.....i don't think a glass shop would be able to help you but they might.....

Shattering the wind deflector would suck. Time for a call to the dealer.

I don't think their gonna replace it. It wasn't a defect so I don't think they are liable. It's just like the crappy straight windshield/rock catcher we have. I tried and it's a no go.

Why would the warranty cover it? Nice try, but this is what insurance is for.

if it's not raining I have my moonroof open, even on the highway. what good is it if I can't open it? accidents happen, that's what insurance is for. at least this didn't happen to you...

Do you think if we used a clear film (kinda like bluebats overlays) it would help lessen the chance of shattering our deflectors?

The warranty is very specific... IT DOES NOT COVER GLASS. sucks.

Time for someone to make a CF wind deflector. Would that work? Pretty cool I think if you are into CF stuff. Yeah tC's are rock magnets. Damnit

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the manual says not to go over 45 mph with your moonroof open.

i didn't kno that. i just don't drive with it open when i'm going fast cuz the wind noise gets really annoying

yeah same here, passengers in my car always want it open and i can't stand it at high speeds.
