Must do mods/fixes from factory? Your opions...
Just got my first Tc today and the first thing I saw thats needs fixed is that 1 foot shifter! So I ordered a leather TRD **** and short throw. I personally (and you should too) remove the dealer sticker. I usually do before I even make it home lol. I also ordered a S2000 antenna. These are things I would say are along the first must do mods. Anyone with more experience with this car have any opions? Any flaws from the factory that can be improved?
If you have a factory license plate holder, id suggest changing those too unless you want your car to be an advertisement. Other than that, your good. Whats your plans for this car? Plan to keep it for a while?
First mods I would do is a nice drop and HIDs. You would be surprised what an aggressive drop could do to change the stance of the car and make it look meaner. Add some HIDs and your good. Then eventually you can get rims and etc.

The plate holder was was gone when I got home lol. Ive been reading trying to figure out what drop I want, I want it to handle like its on rails and be able to be low enough to tuck tires like my gts and my hatch does. HIDS crossed my mind but I want power, lower and rims first. Where can I get the vrd grille? Oh I ordered a doctor isotope, just the shift **** is trd.
So here's what I said in the other thread... before I locked it.
I wouldn't have bothered with the TRD shifter... it's a bit overpriced. You can do better from the likes of TWM or even the Megan Racing one is good (formerly Creative Compacts). But... the shorter shift is necessary, I definitely agree.
As for the rest of the car... a rear sway bar is a must, IMO. Lowering springs or coilovers (if you can spare the $) will give it a good stance and, if you don't go too low, a little nicer handling to compliment the rear sway upgrade.

Yeah I know what you mean. Unfortunately to get a real difference in power, you would have to go boost. Turbo is the only option right now since the supercharger is being discontinued. Its not even worth it IMO to boost a tC but thats a whole other story. Intake, headers, and exhaust doesnt do anything for our cars really.
I/H/E/P gives like 25? whp.
It's a little extra umph, but basically they are a terrible use of alot of money.
Oh well.
Must haves for me would be drop, VRDs, tint the whole car, overlays to tint out the tails and amber parts in the headlights, chrome turn signal bulb in the headlights, new wheels, short shifter, S2K antenna and SOME sort of CF.
Those would be my bare essentials if starting over.

I'd have to agree with rear swaybar being a must-do mod (felt so much better not swaying like a Buick when going through that 180 degree turn I have to take every morning). Also agreed on the short shifter; I went TRD because I liked the leather shift ****, staying the same height above the pivot, and I didn't mind the price premium so much; others may want to go with TWM, DocIso, etc.
One that I'd like to throw in is the ScanGauge; it's almost completely drop-in (except of course routing the cable to mount the ScanGauge unit to an easily viewable position that looks clean). I have the GPH display up all the time so I know how much fuel the engine is burning (though I'd love to have a real-time analog reading for that, much like the MPG needle in BMW's older cars).

A new Head Unit! And get rid of (unplug) the stock 'sub' in the trunk. It will make it sound so much better.
New tires, the OEM ones stink and do not do well in rain or snow.
Get HIDs, change your parking lights to match the HIDs.
I would vote for new interior fabric. Seat covers or real leather.
And I am not trying to be mean here, but it is your car so do what you want. If you listen to everyone, we would all have the same mods.
It sounds like you are off to a good start keep it up.

Just looking for ideas, def want a unique car... Yesterday I got toyo tires, tinted windows, headunit, system. I like the chrome bulbs where can I get those? And the markers in the headlight do you take it apart to tint it? Can you replace it or something?
