Default My birthday + scion = best day ever!

I have been a member of this site since december. I turned 16 today, and i have been lusting over the tC forever. Well today i went to the toyota dealer to find a 2005 BSP tC with a spoiler with a big red bow(like in the lexus commercials) sitting on the lot, i about pooped my pants.

First drive sincei test drove it in april was amazing.

My new baby is sitting in my driveway now, once i get a job ill start putting money into it to make it even more wonderful.

That is one heck of a 16th birthday present! That might just be better than my best birthday, my 15 last year. I saw my favorite band ever (Foo Fighters) for the first time live on my birthday.

Anyway, congrats on your new ride! My 06 arrives tomorrow!

I ordered mine about four weeks before my birthday in 2004 and it arrived on my 23rd birthday.

When I was 16 I had a $500 Mustang, which I paid for, same as the Scion.

Please tell me your parents did give that to you free and clear?

Also a word of advise, drive carefully. You have a 85% chance of having an accident during your 16th year and a 65% in yer 17th year. Food for thought.

your parents bought it for you??? damn spoiled kids. i got an 88 corolla worth 2k on 18th birthday, then i bought my 96 civic when i was 20 for 7500.

ok, maybe im just a bit jealous, but you better prove me wrong and treat that thing right, unlike most stupid 16 year olds do with new cars.

Y'all are spoiled. I got the privelege of occassionally driving a '93 Mercury Villager. Of course, I was given a '97 saturn two years ago when my parents got new cars...it's now making a nice down payment on my tC...which I am paying every cent for, but with a cosign as I only have 6 months credit history.

I wouldn't want it if I couldn't pay for it from the beginning.

My first car was an '82 Corolla when I was 16. This was '91-92. Great car.

I just bought myself a tC for my birthday. Just turned 30..

Hey atleast hes paying on the car and getting a job for it . Hell I know some brats that get cars free and clear ,thier insurance paid and the parents even give them a gas card (of course they dont have to pay for that either) and as added bonus buys them rims and so forth for their vehicles . Man was I born into the wrong family Just imagin the big ole truck I could have right now

But I still love my tC just want my truck back to (GREEDY THAT WAY) LOL

I'm sry to be hating but I second that spoil comment. Also I don't think tC is a good idea for a first car. I had to pay in full with my car practically no options.

This isn't directed at anyone, but my strong feeling is your first car, whether given to you or bought on your own, should be a beater of some sort, especially when your 16. That way, you can get used to driving, you can drive it hard, and if you get in a crash (likely) your not out that much. Plus insurance will be cheaper and it makes it so much nicer when you finally do get a nice car.
