Wow, what's the deal? So many tCs have been getting keyed lately.

I'm sorry what happen3ed, but I guess it will only get better. Never park in that garage again, by the way.

You know, this sucks, but I strongly believe that no keying is random. Who did you mess with?

who did you ____ off ? i've used that scratch remover and it doesn't work, at least not for that deep a scratch. dont claim it on you insurance it will work against you in the long run. go to the dealer and buy thier touch up paint for your exact color and mask off around the scratch to get it as clean as possible. im not sure what scion sells them for but they're usually around $25

yeah... touch up with a toothpick is what I did last nite (to avoid rust due to the upcoming rain) and until an appraiser from insurance can take a look at the car... it doesn't work too well at all... it's basically coloring in the scratches... anyway. As long as I dont have to repaint entire panels, then I will be satisfied... excluding the bad things I want to happen to the a$$holes that did this.

oh NO! that same crap happened to me in highschool, a total of 32 scratches on every paenl of my car but my roof, do you have low deductible? if not your gonna have to pop for some repaint, or try and buff it until you can get one, those are like mine, deep as hell. my car got dented from them pushing so hard. insurance will usually cover it, best of luck bro

Or, you can take it to a detail shop and see what they can do.

What kind of insurance do you have on the car? Most insurance companies only want to provide full coverage on newer cars. So, you may not have to pay for it.

You might just be able to get it repainted.
scratch x will not work for primer deep scratches.

why did you waste your time trying to cover up the scratches with touchup paint? i would let it rust, the panel is going to get sanded to bare metal anyways when the repaint it. i would have at least left it alone till the apraiser saw it

I told the insurance co. that I'd be touching it up, so they double checked if that would be okay... and they said yes, and I made sure it was noted in my case.
Besides, I only touched up like an inch of the scratches before I gave up... and it rained today... rusted pretty quick too :/

yikes, good luck with the repaint job. the key is to pick a reputable shop. ask to see examples etc

If it makes you feel any better, mine got knifed too late last nite.

Got an estimate of ~$750 to fix it.

It's down to the metal.

My SSM was keyed all up and down the driver's side, and two tires were slashed.

It was my ex.. but I called my insurance company and they covered it no questions asked under my Comprehensive coverage. If you have full coverage they should cover all repairs, minus your deductible of course.

It really sucks.. but without the insurance the total bill (just for the paint) came to like 1500 (and this was just for the front door and fender blend and rear quarter panel + blend).. so you should def. call your insurance company and see what their deal is.

I have aftermarket tires (Nitto neo gens), and Geico said they only cover 70% of the cost to replace wearable items like tires.. so I ended up having to pay an extra $100 to cover the 30% portion of replacing 2 tires. People suck. I have no respect for people who damage others' hard-earned property. Grow the f*ck up.

PunkInDrublic - sorry to hear about your car...
SMASH - same with yours... (I just realized you're one of my friends on myspace, haha)...
tcKing - artwork isn't really my style... I like clean blends, but I can always respect good paintwork.

Oh god! That hurts so much. I got keyed also but not as worse.
I would do what Brakefade suggest. I just don't know how I would mount the hidden camera so I get a 360 view. I've bee searching around for PaintScratch but I did a horrible job so the only solution for me is to go to a body shop =(
