Default my car hit by snow plow at dealers

great my tc is at the dealer haveing the hatch rattle looked at( which didnt rattle all of a sudden even with me driving) and the guy driving a bobcat plowing snow hit my rim and scraped it, they said all that was hit was the rim and they ordered another it will be here in 2 days. my wife wants more than a new rim for the trouble, but what is reasonable for them to do? I guess replacing the rim but i dont know

look the car over closely. If they messed up a rim, then replacing it is fair enough, IMO. There's no trouble there.. except the trip to and from the dealer to pick it up. Maybe that's worth a big mac. ask them for a rim and a big mac.

If they have to keep your car overnight or anything, tell 'em you want a loaner car.

maybe just ask if you can keep the bad rim. then you will have a spare one if ever needed, providing its just a scratch and wasnt all mangled up.

atleast the dealership is doing the right thing and letting you know it happened, not just swapping it out before you notice

I am very sorry to hear that that, luckily it was just the rim and not body panels. I gather the dealer is sincerely sorry and they are doing everything they can to get you a new one.

Is the rim scratched or damaged so the car is not drivable? If this is your work car and you’re inconvenienced by not being able to get to work or around town I think the dealer would have offered up a loaner or to pay for a rental car. If the wheel is scratched and you can get around town while the new rim arrives?

If this is the case I would ask the dealer if they would rotate the tires and maybe ask for an oil change. It is an accident and they will happen, it does take from your day and time. I am sure the dealer will be accommodating if you let them.

I dont think they will let you keep the rim. Knowing the dealership they will send it back for some kind of credit or something.
But YES! TAKE ALL THE DOGHNUTS! HA! bring a bag take a bag and walk around and put stuff in it HA! I would be ____ed to. If they have to keep the car overnight to put a rim on...they are truly a bad dealer. It will take about an hour to do. They will call you when it's in, you go in they change it out...VUALA! done. But i doubt they will let you keep the rim. But it's worth askin.

Accidents happen - that's why they are called accidents.

It appears the dealer is being very up-front and honest about this, letting you know and covering any damage. Have a couple doughnuts while you wait and call it even.

If enough folks try to take advantage of dealers every time there's a small error, pretty soon they won't tell folks when there is one. I'd rather encourage them to continue to be honest. Of course that's just my opinion.

the rims on the tC are easy to screw up. my front rim on the driver side i scraped up real bad hitting a curb going to the bank, and then the back one on my driver side i hit another curb going only about 20mph and it tore up the tire and took a chunk, not just a scrape but a chunk out of it. i need to quit hitting curbs.

yes im getting a new wheel and also a new control arm and strut just incase anything is bent, He didnt want to have me come back in 6 months with a tire wearing improperly. So i guess they are doing there best to fix it.
they also gave me a rental Mazda 6 Oh and a free interier and extior recondition in the spring $109 value

Sounds like you are coming out OK (or even better than OK) on this, atticdog!

Thank the dealer for being so honest and helpful with this. If all dealerships were like that there would be a lot more happy customers!!!

funny thing is i didnt buy my car there
i wanted to and we made a deal i just wanted to think about it an extra day, so i called the salesperson back to tell him i was comming in. Then on my way there he called me back and told me now they didnt want my tradein(2002 dodge dakota 22,000 miles) so i went somewhere else that night and they gave me the same deal, so i bought it from them
