Default my tc experience.. faster than i thought..

i ordered an automatic NB tc with pedestal spoiler and floor mats on September 17th.. a week later my dealer called me to tell me that my tc will be arriving to the port in NY around the week of the 30th and take additional 2-3 weeks to arrive to the dealership..

well...

on thursday, the 29th, the dealer called me to tell me that an automatic NB tc with side airbags arrived that morning and if i want, i can take it home.. being a poor college student, if i get that car it means that i have to hold off on the spoiler, which i wanted more than ANYTHING!! ..... i made a tough decision to choose SAFETY over LOOKS because i was not willing to wait another 2-3 weeks.. haha.. so i went on Friday to pick it up but some problems with paper work so i had to go back on Saturday... came home yesterday with my brand spankin new tc...

pictures.. ((not that yall dont know how it looks like.. -.-;;))

my old car..

ANYWAYS...

i had a question..

yesterday when i was starting the engine, it didn't turn on very smoothly.. i thought it was just ME so i let it go but my dad drive around today and he told me the same thing.. i looked in the manual and it says something about cranking and i got so confused.. does it mean to hit the breaks while turning on the engine..?? do you guys do that too..?? when i start my engine, i just turn it on.. i dont press the brakes while doing it.. whats the deal..??

Congrats on the tC!

I would say that its quite normal of the tC. Generally it takes a few cranks of the engine to finally fire up...typical of most toyotas.
As for the brake, i dont think it will make a difference AS long as your in park...but it wont start unless your in p or n so scratch that...

How do you mean 'smoothly'? If you're referring to the way that it takes a half second or so after turning the key to have the motor fire up, that's completely normal for the tC.

but after a couple months it went away. Either that or i got used to it. I think it went away.

congrats on your new tc, in a sense, i'm glad you didnt get the spoiler! in my opinion, the rear lip spoiler looks better than the pedestal spoiler, but its your car, so you decide..just think about it though..anyways..congrats!

Agree with Louie and pain; It looks much better w/o ped spoiler. Congrats and welcome to the tC family! What's the first mod you'll be doing?

well.. i'm glad to hear that it's not just my car.. geesh..

my parents are glad that i didn't end up with the pedestal spoiler too.. i still want it.. but i don't think i will get it because i don't want to drill holes in my car.. which can lead to rust later on..

what mods will i be doing..?? hmmmmmm... nothing.. i don't play around with that stuff..

The pedestal spoiler is fugly IMO. Now the LIP SPOILER... that's class :D The rear of the tC ends up looking like a Mercedes SLK.

Just get your windows tinted and S2K antenna and you'll be just fine.
