Default My tC is going to be in Hot Import Nights San Mateo!!!

I am very excited to show off my car, however, I need someone to PLEASE help me out! I was reading the rules and regulation and so forth, and one of the rules was that I need to keep my hood open at all times for final inspections by "authorities".... Does that mean the Police will be there or some sort of law enforcement? Because my car has no CATs and if that's the case, then I will have to have my stock headers and s-pipe put back on, which will suck cuz then I'll have to drive around like that for a week and the engine bay won't look as nice...

There will be the police there no doubt, but who really looks at it is the fire marshal, to ensure your battery is disconnected... you got to leave it open or at least unlatched, or else risk towing for sure.

But, if you paying to show at a show as large as HIN, don't have stock headers, or stock much for that matter... It's tough as hell to be competitive with a tC even like mine, so you'll need to pull everything out of your bag to hold your own there... it's a tough, tough competitive crowd at HIN.

Congratulation's on going to this event. What they are referring to is the event officials (and fire marshal as pointed out above). I assume you are being judged as part of the event and as such, the judges want to be able to move quickly through the field (and not have to wait for an entrnat to open up their car to be judged.)

Police may very well come by but it's more to check out your ride as an enthusiast versus look for violations.

I'd strongly suggest ensuring you have a fire extinguisher as part of your display. It is something that bit my Dad at a concours event (dicked several points).

Make Sure you have no more than a quarter tank of gas when you arrive, or tap the gas gauge if so. I had no cat and I was fine, however, sometimes they inforce that rule. Just as he said above, don't expect to win, just have fun.

but the tC does have 2 cats - how would that work if they said you have no cat and you made them look under?

This may be a dumb question but I am askin anyways, what the deal with the quarter tank of gas? I dont get that. Of course I have never been to HIN, I wanna go this year though, to that after hours one in Chicago.

if there's a fire... 250 cars with a quarter tank of gas is less explosive than 250 cars with full tanks of gas ^^

At 50 bucks to show, and around 80 for power (if you use it), plus travel, food/drink all day, and the time spent cleaning/waiting/having the car sit there... just to sit there?

Maybe I'm too cheap... it's too much for me to go, if I don't stand a chance... waste of cash I could use for modding!!! think... it's at least a hundred bucks at the least... that's a TCover there for ya!
