Personally I know how it is; working nights at crazy hours (6:30 pm-3:00 am.) I've actually doze off few times here and there but I relieve myself with Mountain Dew within seconds. My advice to you is if you feel little tired; slow down, crank up the music, open windows (if it's nice day), drink up some Dew...you'll be fine.

I blew stop signs & lights, and made unwanted lane changing cause I dozed off. Not fun waking up all of sudden; seeing you're in the right lane when you were originally in the left lane on three lane highway.

You're very lucky to be Japanese car owner...I have brother who has been in five or six accidents in two different Mitsubishi Lancers. He says he'll keep buying Mitsubishi's cause of their safety features. I'm guessing because of this accident; you will keep buying Toyota's or Japanese forever.

i drove 12 hours straight from florida to md starting at 1 am after spending 8 hours at my final day of work and waking up at 8 am to pack up my car. i don't think of myself as exceptional, but if i can do that, lots of others can. and obviously you can't so i think you need a curfew, or a nap time.

now, glad your okay and i hope you learned something from all this or your tc died in vain so that you can live and drive another day.

you are lucky to be alive and fortunately nobody else was hurt. i'm sorry to sound so angry, but it is so easy to prevent stupid accidents like this. all it takes is some common sense and good judgement which you did not demonstrate.

alright, i'll stop ranting. glad your alright. so what do you think you'll do from here? another tc? or another scion? another car?
i understand where ur comin from cuz ive been the same way when i ride wit a friend of mine that will be fallin asleep drivin...its not really sumthin you can prevent cuz ive drove to richmond va to a show and back with no sleep tired as hell....which when u think about it is more stupid than my wreck imo...i dont do that anymore cuz that kinda poop is what i always thought would cause sumthin like this. i never been the type to fall asleep drivin in fact i was at my girls house asleep woke up to come home wasnt really feelin like i was about to fall asleep next thing i know im in the woods...poop happens tho...as far as a new car, i got the tc more or less to have sumthin wit good gas milage and i didnt want a honda wont get another i dont think at least not now maybe a used one later on...and ive always been more of a minitrucker so looks like now might be the time to go ahead and get that 350 for the 93 s10 i been plannin on building...no definate plans yet.

as far as sellin parts off the car i have to meet with the insurance adjuster first and go over everything...i know at least one of the wheels is bent the others looked ok but i didnt really check...but from what ive been hearin the insurance ppl are funny so it may be more trouble than its worth to try and get anything off of it...

First off, glad you are ok!

Second, comments like this make me so mad. I lost my brother in a rollover accident. He was not wearing a seat belt, came out and was ran over as the car flipped. Then three years later my wife rolled her civic, looked pretty much like this, was wearing her belt and lived even with the roof completely caved in...

Not all accidents are the same, but I sure as hell risk my luck with the belt on...

are you serious? you are risking your life with the seatbelt ON? dude, you are crazy. yes, it is true that there is a remote possibility that you can be thrown from the vehicle in a car accident and save your life, but the odds are very very narrow.

have we not been keeping up with the new? that new jersey governor who was in a car accident not wearing his seat belt?

secondly, if you do something stupid, somebody should tell you what you are doing wrong. pure and simple. driving under conditions that severely reduce your control of the car and reaction time, and in this case, ability to remain conscious at the wheel obviously put the driver, and other people in the vicinity of the car in serious danger.

so buckle up and stay alert! make good decisions for your sake and the lives of others!

I dont think you read what I said or I worded it weird, I was saying that I am always going to wear my belt. Some might say it is taking a "risk" but I think you are risking it to not wear it!

well, when you said "i risk my luck with the belt on" it sounded like you were saying it is riskier to drive with the belt on then with it off.

i know there are risks in certain kinds of accidents when the belt is on and it would be safer to be thrown from the vehicle. but you are far likier to be involved in an accident where it is more beneficial to have the seat belt on.
