Default My tC took all 9 lives

I'm a very bad neighbor.

This situation, which I'm about to tell you, has got me trippin' all day. Here's how it goes. I start the morning with breakfast and getting ready for work. As I step outside to start and warm up my car, I unlock my doors and disarm my vehicle alarm. However, when disarming, my unlock chirp confirmations chirped more than twice.
It normally chirps twice but if it chirps more than 2 times, then something triggered my alarm in the middle of the night. So I look for signs of damage or tampering to my car but found nothing. So I got in and started my car. As my engine picks up after starting, I hear this loud screech or sqeauling noise from my engine bay. I shut the engine down and pop my hood open to check my serpentine belt. Guess what I found.
"My neighbors cat mangled in between my belt and pulleys."
Ohh that's just great And I didn't want to deal with it because I'm allergic to cat dander. It was pretty bloody and gorey.
I dreaded informing my neighbors about it but I had to. They were always good neighbors and they took the bad new of their lost pretty well. They understood my condition with cats and removed their cat with sticks and lawn shears themselves.
It really sucks because I was the cause of the cats death. I'll have to remember checking my hood next time my unlock chirp confirmations chirp more than twice.

Wow....That totally is not your fault...
This is weird my friend just told me they heard their cat in their engine today and found it ...so maybe it isn't too random?

Well it gets cold in the night here and the cat was staying next to the warm engine when I came home around 1am. Must fell asleep.
But my alarm was trying to tell me something.

Nothing seems mechanically wrong but I'll have to have it checked.
For sure, I'll get it steamed cleaned otherwise, I might break out in hives.
But yeah. I'll feel bad every time I face my neighbors.
Now it a bad neighborhood story against me. Damn.

That's why everyone should tap the horn 4-5 times before they start their car in cold weather. Depending on how cold it was there, your neighbors should have kept that cat inside. Especially if it's an older cat.

Why is there a bad story on you....its not like you picked the cat up, opened your hood, tossed the cat in the, closed it, then started the car.....Was it small or what??...Technically its not your fault...But i still would feel bad, I would send then a sorry basket or something...

It's the fact that the news will spread around the neighbor and will be exaggerated badly because I'm black.

Ohh....yea what but time it makes around...someone will be saying that you tied the cat under your hood and drove around the block in circles while the cat was screaming, then you dumped it on your neighbors door step........Yea i feel for you,, we all know how rumors spread...

Do you live in a predominately white neighborhood? Although it was a cat, it seems liked you showed remorse. Just tell your neighbors that you feel really bad and ask them if there's anything you can do. I know I would appreciate a person MORE who goes out of their way over an ACCIDENT.

Don't feel too bad man, its not like it happened on purpose. That reminds me of this one time when I was @ the mall and this cat wouldn't come out of the engine bay of a Tacoma. I could hear the cat resisting. I was like that's gonna be a hard one to catch. But now I think I'm gonna check my engine bay 2morrow morning since there's quite a few cats around my neighborhood.

Yes. Predominately white. Mostly Italians. But I'd like to thank everyone who's made their condolence suggestions. Much appretiation.

What the deal. That's a bizarre story. Cats usually seem so alert. Sorry about your car, and sorry to your neighbors about the pet.
