Default My tC update... :(

Hey everyone,
Well, I've been waiting a bit over a month now for my IIP tC with side curtain airbags and a lip spoiler. After changing dealerships once because of complete dissatisfaction with the service,, the 2nd palce was finally allocated a tC with my specs which should have arrived last week... but it never did. Apparently, once it got to port it was reallocated to another dealer in the tristate area eventhough i had put down a deposit on the car weeks ago... this completely baffles me.
Now, I'm working on finding anywhere this weekend that I can grab one. I'll be driving all over NY (and to Silver Spring MD and Newark DE on my way back from school tomorrow) this weekend to find this car to drive back to school Sunday. It seems like it's every other day they seem hopeful that it will be coming, then the next some drastic turn of events occurs and the car vanishes in thin air. I don't know what to do, I was really set on the IIP but I guess I'd considder the black, but sideairbags are a must. Anyone have any advice or anyone on here work at a dealership that could give me some pointers or ideas? Thanks...

Mike

I had a dealership try to locate one, they said 300 miles away or order one. I went 15 miles north to another one, and they had one on the lot, so i bought that, and got my deposit back from the original dealership! :-) Just go find one in inventory somewhere, thats your best bet!

I dealt with the same thing when i was trying to track down a tC. Had dealerships tell me things were coming into port next week or how they can try to take allocations from other dealers yada yada. My theory is they are all lying. They have absolutely no clue whats going on until the delivery trucks actually pulls into their driveways. So I ended up cancelling my deposit and tracked down a tC that was physically in a dealers lot. I had to travel 1.5 hours to that dealership, but it sure beats sitting around wondering if a car I put a deposit on is actually going to be at the dealership on the date the salesman promised. Goodluck

try in Westchester, which is close to Rockland... I got mine from Toyota North in Mount Kisco - 914-666-5181. best dealer I have ever dealt with for tC.

Check some of the inventories out my way. I got mine at 355 Scion(355 Toyota/Darcars) in Rockville (great service), plus there are a few more dealers in Rockville and Gaithersburg you could try.

Default Younger Scion in Hagerstown, MD

If I were you I would go to Younger Scion in Hagerstown Maryland on Dual Highway. They were awesome! I went it one day filled out the credit app and all that good stuff got approved, they said they would have to order my car which kinda upset me but the next day I took in my deposit and the salesman said oh yea by the way your car will be here tomorrow, and sure enough it was! They were so awesome. If you are interested just drop me a line at JenniferShaffer@wvdhhr.org and I will tell you who to ask for and all that good stuff. They will definetly take care of you!!

I was on the phone last night with scion customer service and they were very unhelpful. The guy was really nice but kept saying "There's nothing we can do, dealers are independently owned. Just keep trying" But if they have that little pull on anything at all, what is their purpose? Anyway, as it stands, unless I can find an IIP or BSP tC on the ground somewhere w/ side airbags, it will take another 3 months and I just don't have that much time to buy...

I was told it will take 2 weeks max by my first dealer, 2-3 from my second who I signed actual papers with, got plates and a vin (but then the car got reallocated at port to Manhattan Scion and was sold the next day even though it was technically mine)... and the 3rd place said "We have one on the lot, come in and we'll get it for you..." so I drove the hour to the place and they said "sorry it's sold") My family has owned nothing but Toyotas for the last 25 years and this is by far the most miserable customer service I've ever experienced....

I know people have waited just as long for their tC but I'm in a bit of a rush with this one. I reallly really wanted the tC but at this point, all hope is lost. I might have to go with something like the Mazda 3.. Has anyone seen any tC's around in either of those colors w/ side curtain airbags anywhere in the tri-state area, delaware or maryland?

thanks for listening,
mike

Seriously you should try Younger Scion. I know a great salesman there if you want his name or anything just e-mail. I am sure he will be able to hook you up with something real soon. Let me know if you want his name and stuff.

A lot of us got jerked around because the tC is in such high demand and they were being sold basically as they hit the US Ports. If you want your car a certain way and are not willing to comprimise you may end up waiting, but it sounds like maybe you found a tC you are interested in. The only thing I can say is we have no wait compared to my friend who ordered a 2005 GTO. He ordered it last month and it will probably be September before he takes delivery on it.

I feel you man. My situation was just a bit different though. I recently had my SW TC allocated over at Carson Toyota in California and the day it arrived, they added a whole lot more accessories to it than I asked for. All that I wanted was the floormats (i didn't want to finance the rest of the accessories since I can just buy them later on), and when I questioned them about why they did this, they told me they were just trying to hook me up w/ more just to keep me impressed. I was so upset so I made them allocate another SW TC. I know I could've got the one that was already on the lot, but my goal was to get the lowest monthly payment as possible. Getting a TC can be very frustrating, but finally my TC is coming in a week, and I made sure this time that they made it exactly the way I wanted it.

Good luck on getting your TC Mike!

hey thanks a lot... i actually got a call back from scion customer service and i guess they're going to try and make calls and try and find an IIP in NY... i told him I might have found one in MD and he said to just let him know Monday what happens. But I put a deposit on a black tc today with side airbags and a lip that apparently is for sure on the lot... let's hope this works out... i've never done paperwork via fedex before, anyone ever done that?
