Very sorry to hear that. I fear the same thing of my box,
espeically with the factory tint, people assume you have
something hiding back there.

I ahd just got my Sentra in 2002 when i moved to Orlando. On halloween night, my car was broken into. not one, but three windows were smashed. I had my cell phone, my wallet, my checkbook, tons of CDs, and my toll road transponder in there. All they took was my CD case.... which had nothing but French and Russian music in it. HAHAHGA, the little idiots didn't get much.

They got my car, and 3 other cars in my apartment complex. The next week, they came back and the cops caught them... a bunch of 15 year olds from down the street.

Needless to say, my sentra was in the shop for 3 weeks as they had to replace the glass, paint the three doors, and retint the windows... over $4000 in damages. Thank god I have good insurance.

The next month, I went home to Jacksonville, FL for thanksgiving. While I wa eating dinner, some people drove through my friends neighborhood and threw bricks through the back windows of every person whose car was on the street.

As i wait for my tC to arrive at the dealership... i am still finding pieces of glass in my seat fabric from 2 years ago.

It sucks when your new car gets taken advantage of. I hope the repairs go well. My car actually looked a little better after they broke in!

A friend of mine got a 2002 Jeep Liberty new. (God I hate that thing) When he moved into a new apartment he got one of his windows broken. A few weeks after he fixed that, someone slashed one of his tires. One week later (with the tire still flat because he hadn't left his house), someone broke all the windows on the driver's side of the car and slashed the three remaining tires and the spare on the back. I don't think anything has happened to it in the past year, though.

So you wouldn't mind someone throwing a piece of cement through your back window for no apparent reason?

That sucks. Did they take anything of value? Man if I were face to face with someone who did that, they'd be wearing that asphalt!

I'm guessing "some people" have never been the victim of a break-in...
It's not about the window, it's an intrusion into your personal space. A loss of a sense of security, even if it was a false sense. When you realize that locking your car only keeps honest people out.... It Sux!

I feel for you and your tC...

Do you have an alarm on the car? I know it doesnt do much good but at least all they would have done was break the window then ran! and not like have gotten inside the car ya know?
