Ok my tC is off and parked and has been for a half day or so, sometimes at random occasions my brake lights or front parking lights come on for a few minutes then "bam" they go out, I have had people tell me my lights are on but I hadn't run or been in the car all day, sure enough I would go out and unlock it and lock it usually clears the problem, sometimes I have to turn on the ignition and turn it off. and no I'm not smoking anything funny, I haven't had anything to drink either. This activity doesn't happen every night but I don't sit around watching it either so any ideas.

 

This is the first time I've heard of something like this. Maybe a fuse has to be changed?

have you talked to your dealer at all?

 

im going to take a shot at this, first off reset the car disconnect the battery for 5 minutes and then reconnect and give it a go for a few months. i know the cut off switch can sometimes be jam with you seat belt. when you open the door and you lights cut off . sometimes my passenger does things in the car after i get out and then they turn the car off and exit via passenger door which doesn't turn off the light. my old Toyota door cut off switches gave out so the alarm never armd and the head lights stay on. just a ideal to check

 

Do you have scion security?

I havent called the dealer yet
And I essentially did the reset thing when installing a new header

I will keep dealer comments and others posted as I go from here

 

once i was able to use the sunroof and mirrors after i took the key out. im sure thats not normal as well.

I guess I'll expand on that
If your passenger is in a hurry and rushes out while you take advantage of the no key rolling up windows they will not finish either, then you have to put the key back in and finish while grumbling at your hurried passenger.
