Default Need differential information!

g'morning all.

i'm planning to be part of R&D for a PhantomGrip LSD for my xA. however, i need a donor differential, as my car is my daily driver, and i can't do without it.

does anyone know if the transmission (or at least the diff) is shared with any other toyota model? echo? i would imagine that toyota would keep things pretty simple as far as the differentials, but i don't want to risk getting an LSD built for the wrong car.

please, if anyone knows, or has proof (part numbers) for the diffs, you'd be a great help to me.

thank you!

Joel

Kaaz USA already makes a 1.5way for Echo/Yaris/Vitz which would also fit the Scion xA/xB.

And the xA/xB share the same transmission as the Echo, only difference is the final drive gearing... the other gears are the same, even.

i'll go looking for an echo tranny/diff!

I came here from a nissan/240sx forum and all I heard about the phantom grip was crappy reviews. It's been awhile so I don't remember the details, all I remember is that they didn't work...or if they did actually work, they paled in comparison to a genuine LSD (even worn out factory LSDs).
I'd say, save your duckets and get the Kaaz.

I remember the guys at Sport Compact Car magazine always saying the PG was a great unit and always did the job for them...no idea why others don't feel the same, but I suspect many of them never actually tried one, they're just posers who jump on the "get a real lsd" bandwagon.
