Default need help with cruise control/window controls on tc!

My 2007 spec tc did not come with cruise control, and only has a one-touch window down control on the driver's side.

I was recently lucky enough to acquire: 1)a regular 2007 steering wheel w/cruise controls, and 2)window switches w/wiring from doors to the kickpanel harnesses. I tried installing the cruise and window controls today and while everything plugged in fine, they did not work as I'd hoped. (but thanks for the parts Dan Gardner!)

1. The cruise control simply did not work. I plugged the cruise control wire from the cruise control dongle to the inside of the steering wheel - behind the air bag. When I pressed the button a the end to turn cruise on, the "cruise" light on the instrument panel did not turn on.

2. With both window control switches and wiring harnesses hooked up, I was able to control the sideview mirrors, door locks, and hear the speakers (all wired on the same harness), but I could not control the windows. Everything else worked fine, but the windows would not raise or lower at all.

Does anyone know what could be going on here? Can someone please help me out? I'm guessing that maybe the internal wiring throughout the car just isn't wired for the cruise and window controls, but wouldn't there be some way of replacing or appending that wiring?

Maybe you need to do the reset thing that us non-spec tC guys do when we have a problem with our windows.

Also the lack of cruise light might just mean that there isn't one in there to turn on when you hit the switch. Since the car doesn't come with that feature why would they even put in that light anyway.

i don't believe the wires that extend from the spiral cable (the wires that come out of the steering wheel)

actually are there that go to the ECU.. so you basically plugged it into nothing... same thing with the radio controls.

there are probably ways to append to that wiring... and can't see why it would not be possible.. (i doubt the ecu is completely different)

It may be possible that the cruise control fuse isn't in the fuse box. try that. 99% of the times I see a fuse panel diagram, the options the car doesn't have, don't have a fuse in the slot.

It's still worth a shot, eliminate the obvious first, ya know?

I believe you're missing additional parts to make the cruise control work. I dunno but it might have a separate module for CC The clock spring may also be different from the one on standard tCs

it's definitely missing wiring.

honestly you'll probably might end up paying more money to really have it than if you had just bought a regular tC in the first place.

but then again, you did acquire some expensive parts already which helps out a little.
