Default Need help Fuse Problem or

Hey Guys and Girls, I need some help trouble shooting a fuse problem I'm having. I'm trying to find my repair book but doing know where I put it. Here is my problem

Last night I blow out the fuse for the Cig lighter. Everything else in the car is working fine. Even the Power outlet in the glove box. So today after work I went to take out the CIG fuse and replace it. When I went to go do that I pulled out another one by mistake The Moon Roof fuse. I put it back where it went got the rite one for the CIG lighter. put the key back in the ignition turned on the car, My radar detector went off like it show. But know the BRAKE light, ABS light , And Tire Pressure Light don't turned off, My auto light off doesn't work. and my moorn roof doesn't work, My Speed a meter doesn't work . But the RPM, Gas and Temp due work. and the Odometer doestn't work either.

I'm tired from work so I know I'm not think to clearly. I'm going to take a break for a few hours and try this again. But in the mean time do you guys Have any ideas on what could be going wrong ?

I pulled out everyone that has to do with the guges and the moon roof, They don't looked blown. But the fuse for the CIG light didn't look blown either. I wish I could find my multi Meter so I could test them all out.

is their a primary set of fuses under the hood? Possible you have shorted one of those. Otherwise I would make sure WITH A METER you are getting 12v across all of those fuses and nothing less. Could be you're having a direct short somewhere and not knowing it.

you really need to actually look at the fuses to make sure they are indeed blown..

is your cig lighter working again?.. the moonroof fuse alone shouldn't be causing issues.. unless you pulled out the ECU-IG fuse (which has do do with the moonroof too..)

which, fyi has ABS and other stuff attached to it on that circuit..

who knows.. you might have put fuses back in the wrong place..
how many fuses did you actually mess around with..??

you don't have to physically look at a fuse to see if it is blown is you are using a multimeter to test them. I work in car electronics and have seen many fuses that looked fine but when checked with a meter were blown.

x2 on if the cig lighter is working. I am not sure about the other stuff being on the circuit but if it is then I would bet that it still doesn't work.

I have more for you guys. now my power door locks don't work. That made my alarm go crazy, I wasn't able to disarm it. I had to pull the horn fuses. Then it took me like 40 minutes to remeber the emergence unlock for the alarm system. Atl least my car is able to start again . But now I have no power door locks to add to the problems.

I checked all the fuses under the hood. I can't find my multi-meter, I'm going to pick one up tomorrow. ______________________________________________________________________

yes my GIG is working fine. The only other fuses the I pulled out was the S/Moon one.

I triple checked the fuses location diagram to make sure the fuses are in the right place. ___

I will be tomorrow, all I could find was a fuses tester light. I'm starting to think I might have pulled something lose. I had to more the wires that go from my alarm unit it was covering the fuses. I'm going to have to check all these damn wiring diagrams know to see what goes to what.

what kind of alarm do you have? i install alarms and other car electronics so I may be able to tell you where stuff goes if it is something that I am familiar with. Then again, nothing with your alarm should be causing the problems that you are having. The door locks should work regardless of if you unplugged something from the alarm unless it shorted out.

So the battery is not getting charged. So my alternator is not working properly. I order it today, I have to go pick it up Tuesday after 3pm. So now I found out why all those lights went on, on my dash. There wasn't enough current going to the airbag system, ABS, Tire pressure system, Power door locks and moon roof. The alarm went all crazy, cause it low voltage sensors kicked in and its back up battery went off, thinking the car was trying to be stolen. At least now I know what is wrong. How my alternator went out. I have know clue.. any ideas ?

What the... sounds like you're having a bad week. Maybe your battery's dead? Or are you sure it's the alternator...

it the alternator, I got my booster pack. jumped the battery. change changed the charge. It started at 9,5 V then went up ti 9.54 then 9.55. Then it started to drop all the way done to 8.3 V. Then a checked the alt and it was doing the same thing.

Then my mom gives me a call. My Celica is doing the same thing. Then after that I go up to my aparment and my girl tell me our Camera won't turn on. every electrical around me is gooing to hell.

but next time you have issues, don't just go crazy yankin fuses. get yourself a multimeter and check em all, with the key in the "ON" position.

power surge is not covered under warranty. so I'm ___ out on this one. But I think I found the cause of this. My phone charger .. I opened it up to check the fuses on it and noticed that the metal on the inside of the fuse is melted into one mass of mess . This might also explain why my phone had been acting really messed up the last few weeks.
