Need to sell my 05 tc
Ya, so I have 17k miles, tein s tech springs, honda antenna, and tint as my only mods. I tried looking on auto trader mags to find a price range to start at but no one seems to be selling their tc's. I love my car and all but I need money to pay off my bills. what would be a fair price to sell my car?
see, im asking a serious question for a fair market price and i get an answer like "I'll give you 10 G's for it." well then ok, give me 40 G's right now and I'll give you the change later.

From my experience, dealerships buy used tC for around 14K, and maybe 15K if you're lucky. I don't know the dealerships around your area, but thats how it is where I am.
Lastly, no one is selling because no one is buying used tC at the moment. Most used tCs I've seen has to high of a markup. I've seen 13K tCs listed, but all are Salvage Title and not many people want a ST vehicle.
More than likely a dealer will offer you $14k to $14.5k for a used tC. Selling it on your own will not work (like TongMan said). If you can buy new for $16.5, why would you buy used for $15.5 or $16? It's just not gonna happen. I would either trade it in or if you've had it long enough, try and refinance it for 72 months.
If you bought your tC a year ago for $16,500 plus tax and financed it for 72 months at 6% you would be paying around $290 a month. Now, if you were to refinance the balance (approx. $15,000) for 72 months, your payment would drop to $250.00. You'd save yourself $40.00 a month right there.
If you financed it for only 60 months the first time, you'd be paying about $340.00 right now...if you refinanced the balance for 72 months, you'd be down to $240.00 a month...saving yourself $100.00 a month in car payments!
Something to think about.

i thought they were selling good because nobody wanted to wait for a new one. im thinking about selling mine to get a manual. its an 06 with 5000 miles. im hopeful, and ive heard some are willing to pay to not have to wait...
i just don't understand why a dealership would take a trade for 14k+....they must be marking up the price of vehicle they sell you, to make up for it.
if i could get 15K for my 05 5 speed tc with 13k miles and swirls, i'd do it. then i'd buy a cooper S. but that will never happen

yeah your gonna find it really hard to sell it for as much as you really want , im trying to sell my dads custom street bike so he can get him self a tc or something but i would only be able to offer 13k after thats taken care of.
what color and trans is it ?

Used car market sucks, KBB is worthless in Miami bc we have 3 car auction places that I know of within a 4 hour drive, so dealers are undercutting KBB and NADA trade in values and offering you what they pay at auction (about $10-12k on a good day).
Offer a $500 signing bonus and get someone to take over you payments, but selling right now is a BIG NO-NO!!

also, how many used tcs do you have in auto trader? i have none within 25 miles and 3 within 50. one is private party, an 05 with 13000 for 21000 with no mods, and a crack in the winsheild, one is an 05 from a dealer and one is listed without a price. i think i stand a chance?
after financing, my payment was 22k. but i paid off my car within 9 months. a tc isnt just worth the no haggle price, theres also the tax, title and license to worry about. thats why i think 14- 15k is pretty fair for a used car.
