Default Need a solution to my soon to happen short shifter install

I was looking at the install instructions for the TWM shifter and was wondering if ALL the tC Shifter housings had these two black clamps to keep the plastic cap on top of the shifter down? shown below

Just wondering if ALL tC's have this..if not...those who DO..and already have a Short Shifter..how do u remove these two pieces...and are the necessary after taking them out? ... I don't want to pry them off just yet because my Creative Compacts Shifter won't be here until hopefuly next week..so im just throwing this at you guys to get some answers...Thanks in advance..I appreciate it.

I used a flat blade screwdriver to pry mine off. They just clip back on when you are done.

I think the early cars (like June-Dec. or so?) didnt have them, but the newer ones do maybe? I dunno, I got my car on Dec. 23 and it has them...

My car made in September didnt have those pieces installed i think it may only be on newer models as it wasnt in the instructions that came with my twm shifter as well.
