Default Need some ideas !

Whats up everybody, im new to SL and I have a Flint Mica '06 Scion Tc

I want to start working with it and I don't know where to start
I'm aiming more on style and appearance than performance since the car is automatic.
But all suggestions are welcome !
Please post pictures and links to parts that are needed

Thanks !

Thanks guys, I'm a total noob at this so I wanted to ask what the difference was between s techs, h techs and coilovers ?

I was also wondering how to really shine my car, I've been using turtle wax but I've seen some nice shine on other cars here

What's the process and what products should I use ?

I want to get those swirls off my car too, let me know what I could to do take care of my baby, thanks !

H/S-Techs are just the names of lowering springs that Tein makes. You use your stock or aftermarket shocks and the ride height is non-adjustable. If you use your stock shocks they usually wear out very quick.
Coilovers are a pair of Shocks/springs that are paired together but are adjustable for ride height. They are usually a lot stiffer and give somewhat more of a bumpy ride. They usually cost upwards of $900 -$1000 with exception to Raceland/Rokkor which are ~$300 and are not good for track use but daily driving only.

Best style mod: Lower your tC
Springs are non-adjustable and cheaper. Coilovers are adjustable but more expensive.

I have: BC Racing BR Series Coilovers - Adjustable height, adjustable stiffness, $999 MengMotorsports.com

Best cheap style mod: Window Tint
Check your local laws for allowed tint darkness or ask a local shop. Tint level is based on visibility - Example: 20% is darker than 50%. $150-200 @ a professional shop.

I have: 50% fronts and 3% backseat and trunk.

Those two things will make the biggest impact on your exterior visuals, other than expensive rims.

Best engine sound: Exhaust
Check local laws about what you can and can't do to your exhaust. Exhaust is

- Headers - which will delete your first catalytic converter, which is illegal to do in states that comply with CARB. CARB = California Air Resource Board but that doesn't mean only California goes by this)

- S-Pipe/Mid-Pipe - which will delete your second catalytic converter, again, illegal in CARB states.

- Axle-Back Exhaust - Legal in all 50 states, so long as they meet the local decibel laws.

Since I live in California I got the HKS Hi-Power Axle-Back. Sounds good, easy install, doesn't delete any cats, under the decibel limit and has a wide mouth at an aggressive angle.

Other things you can get:
Front Strut Bar
Rear Sway Bar - I have Progress Sway Bar from MengMotorsports.com
Cold Air Intake/Short Ram Intake - Check local laws for CARB, etc.
Underbody lights - I have LEDGLOW.com 3 Million Color Kit
HID low beam kit - I have 5000k kit MengMotorsports.com again
New Grille - I have GrilleCraft.com MX Series in black
Paint your calipers - I have G2 caliper Paint but any high temp paint will work
Countless LED upgrades - License plate lights, parking lights, blinker LEDs, HVAC LED swap, etc, etc, etc.
Gauge/Needle Color swap
Lip Kit - RS1 is generally well liked but look around
and hundreds of more possibilities.

Search around the site, mainly the tC Lounge, for pictures of other tCs and see what other people have done. That's an easy start.

Good Websites:
MengMotorsports.com
Oznium.com
FastScions.com
etc.

Also check out other people's rides and mods on ClubSciontC.com.

s tech drop the car very low. and it will blow your struts very quick. If you live in an area with a lot pot holes or steep hills&driveway, don't get it. H tech is not as low and still give u a nice lowered look. There is a post of tc's with different springs. Look up in the suspension section.
Coilovers are more expensive but i personally don't think it is worthy the money.
If you don't autocross and corner balance the car, then you don't need the coilover.

Though more expensive than Tein springs, I bought Eibach Sportline springs.. 2 inch drop(.4 inch higher than S techs in the front, same drop as s techs on the back) all around.
$220 shipped from Meng Motorsports.
Check out my progress thread for before/after pictures. Keep in mind, all springs settle a little bit after a few weeks, so my car will eventually be slightly lower.
