Default New 2008 tC

Just picked her up today.

So far I LOVE the car. The dealer even through in the shift **** for FREE.

I do have a question though, this is my first manual so I'm still learning. However my question is this. I was driving around 30 and went to shift into 3rd gear and accidently went to 1st and let the clutch out, heard two loud thuds before I could clutch back in. How bad was this? Obviously it was bad but what do I need to look for now and did I break something or just slightly damage it? Car still shifts good and engages easily.

Oh, and for the record I came from this:

2004 Subaru WRX automatic. Had quite a bit done to it, loved having it. Reason for trading in: subaru had high miles, ____ty on gas, starting to have some problems.

The automatic WRX is still very fast once you put in an exhaust and tune it. I never ran the car at the track, and similar cars ran high 13's and low 14's. (ricer math of course)

I bought the car from Peoria Toyota Scion. Great people

should of waited a couple of weeks for the 09, even though some dealerships are getting them now. Nothing different but the year? Congrats anyways!

OOOOOOOOO they threw in a shift **** like i give a crap. a shift **** is what...50 bucks? so for 17g you get a 50 dollar shift ****? yeah you got a deal buddy. i got a $480 spoiler free of charge. how do you like that? you feel cheated? huh? or is it cause you mis-shifted and probably bled your clutch line and cracked your rolling pin. god you young kid newbs!!!!!!!!!!

HAHA just kidding. welcome to scionlife. where the sarcastic come after a hard day of work to pick on people they'll probably never see. you car should be fine. just watch out for those shift ***** in the heat....cause yea....they get hot...

don't worry, there is a gear guard on 1st gear that keeps you from engaging it from too high a speed that you would hurt the car, don't make a habit out of abusing it though.

also, as soon as you said the wrx was an auto, that was explanation enough for getting rid of it. autos suck.

Silverstreak you had me for a second, I almost got to have my first a**hole post on this site! Damn, so close.

I was actually quite happy with the shift ****, I really didn't expect more then the car. lol.

I'm also already planning on the Short Shifter. I've been eying the Dr. Isotope since I joined this forum and knew I was getting a manual.

Draxcaliber. Even though the car was an auto, it was a LOT of fun. I got SO many stares from kids in their cobalts, neons, honda's, etc etc wanting to race me.

Yanki01. I almost waited to get an 09, but circumstances wouldn't allow me to really wait, that and I'm VERY impatient. The dealer in which I bought from actually has a black 2009 tC, except its an auto and has UGLY rims. But for the most part its only a number right? lol

Congrats on the TC. I've done something similar to what you did too buy mine was in 5th gear and i accidently shifted to second. My tc was my first manual car too.

And BTW go for the Dr. Iso shortshifter! You wont be disappointed! It was my 1st mod, completly changed the feel of the car.

It'll be a bit before I get the short shifter. But it is planned. Otherwise I have no idea what I'll do with the car. According to the wife though "your not modding that damn car!" (dumping 3-4K in a subaru we no longer own didn't make her happy, lol)
