Talking New SCION tC OWNER HERE !!

Hey how is everyone today ? Im Mike, im 22 from Philadelphia PA & just bought my first Scion tC about 4 months ago! The car was just under 13k for 27k miles on it. Ive been a tC lover since my dad bought a scion xb (not sure if thats the right one or not its the small rounder car) a few years ago. Althought im more fond of the tC. Im just your average driver, dont do shows or race so I dont know much about cars at all. So I have a few questions in mind.

1- I would like to purchase a spoiler for my tC. Im looking at a lip spoiler something small an sleek, not big and goofy. Where can I purchase one & do they normaly get screwed on or double sided tape ?
2- Im looking for new taillights (halo's maybe) and brake lights (LEDS) any good recommendations ?

Also if you have pics of your Scion for examples it would be much appreciated. Im not high on car mods so I dont know what im doing and your help would be very appreciated !!

Welcome to SL.

As far as lip spoilers go, I'd recommend the OEM: http://mcgeorgeparts.com/Scripts/pro...&idCategory=29

There's also the Kaminari Flush Mount: http://kaminari.com/scion-tc-flush-mount-deck-wing-pur

Both come with mounting bolts but some people cut them off if you want to just use double sided tape.

There are no halo tail lights so I'm assuming you meant headlights. There are none I'd recommend. Based on your mileage, I'd guess you have a 08-09 tC. If so, keep the projector headlights you have.

For LED tail lights I'd recommend Anzos: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...Q5fAccessories

or TYCs: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/05-06...Q5fAccessories

The TYC's have been discontinued so you may want to act quickly if you want those. Also, if you have a 08-10 tC, you'll need the tail light harness from the 05-07 to install the Anzos.

Welcome to SL bud,

Most parts you can find on the Forums itself under the classified section or you can look for Retail websites. trdsparks.com is a good one.

For tail lights I'd recommend TYC or Red anzo Tail lights.
Headlights you can ether go with the 2008-10 model Projectors or do a retro fit.
Best for our cars is a Retro fit. DONT BUY NON OF THAT EBAY JUNK! they will fog and the Leds will burn out with the quickness

Pictures

RS3 TYC

EURO TYC

Anzo Tail Lights

Heres a link for the Retro Fitted 05-07 Headlights which i think is by far the best you can do for headlights.

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. My tC is an 07 actually. I actually have been lookin at this forum for a month or 2 now just havent had time to join. I found good info on these Weathertech Rain Guards from here that I will be buying shortley.

2 more questions. My gauge lights are a dim yellow..and honestly I drive at night a lot and those things could put me to sleep if it wasnt for my subs & loud music. Any way to change the lights on the inside? I saw some people have like bright blue or white which would help me out tremendously. And 2 My car has a few scratches and stuff & I would REALLY like to get it painted and re-done so it has a better finish to it, would you reccomend any type of paint shop like Maaco ? Any info would be appreciated.

Done to the car so far:

Touch screen Pioneer In-Dash head unit GPS
Tinted the windows to 20%
2 Kenwood 12" Subs & Kenwood amp in the back.

Now im just looking for the outside, tail lights, headlights, rims, ect.

I just call them Anzos since they were the first resellers of them. Kind of like how people call APT fogs VRDs. I got my set from Ebay. I think I paid $130 and that was 2+ years ago.

Everyone's lights are orange (or red-orange in the 08-10). Make sure the dimmer switch isn't turned down. If you want them to be a different color you have to open the cluster and solder in new LEDs.

The best painters are usually found by word of mouth. I wouldn't trust a franchise shop unless I knew the painter. Depending on how deep the scratches are, they could be repaired without repainting. If it's to the metal, then yeah I'd look for a painter.

Ok Ill ask some motorheads for a good paint shop. Also there is a light dimmer switch ? The manuel didnt come with the car so I had no knowledge of a dim switch. Ill google it and see if I can find info on it. Maybe they are fully lit and I just cant stand the yellow but I find myself getting really annoyed at the yellow-ish orange dimness.
