Default New to Scionlife .. Few quick questions

Whats up everyone, as you see im new here and am in the process of getting a new tc, and was wondering what everyone paid for theres and how the insurance is on them.. I see a list of $16,700 as a msrp, but msrp can usually be lowered , basically all i want to to is end up with a nice new ride with good mileage and be around 300/ month with $2000 down .. Thanks again everyone, Matt

For starters, Scion has the Pure Price thing. There is no haggling on price. Everyone pays the same.

For the most part. There are a few fees from the dealer, but usually no more than a few hundred dollars.

You *may* be able to get them to throw in some floormats or something similar.

In theory, not every dealership charges the same. But I haven't seen any charging more than the MSRP (aside from the standard "fees" which may vary from location to location). Pure pricing really only means that the price is clearly posted at the dealer, and there are no negotiations on that. Pure pricing does not require all Scion dealers to post the same price.

How do you like your tc , haw is it for mileage, insurance, ride, overall quality etc.. And was it a car you loved from the test drive or did you have to have it grow on you

I love my tC. I couldn't be happier.

I have the TRD supercharger, but that only lowered my gas mileage by 1-2 mpg, so I now get about 24-25 mpg, versus 25-26 before. On a trip last weekend of all highway mileages, even with the s/c, I averaged 30 mpg. I have no concerns/issues with quality.

I test drove one at the local dealer and upon my return to the dealer, the sales lady asked what I thought of it. All I said was "I'll take one" and went inside and wrote a deposit check to get one on order. No regrets.

After tax and install, was about $4k. It was expensive, but I find the car to be a lot more fun now. Horsepower ratings are somewhat debated on this site, but TRD claims a 25% increase.

Incorrect. The stated MSRP by Scion is set and cannot be changed. (for a new car)
used... dealers can jack up the price as high as they want.

different fees may apply and that's the only thing that's different. just make sure they don't tack on bogus fees which some stealerships will do.

if any problems arise with the salesmen or the dealership, you shouldn't hesistate to report them to Scion Corp.

^^^ No, not wrong.

From www.scion.com:

"Here's how it's done: Scion's Pure Price purchase experience means no haggle, no hassle. The price you pay for all products and services offered equals the dealership's posted and advertised price. Price menus are clearly posted in the dealership showroom for all products and services. Dealers are free to set their own prices."

So they can set the prices as they wish, whether they use MSRP or not, they just have to post it and not haggle.

There's a lot of debate on here on that subject. Yes, it is very steep. But my warranty is maintained and I have more fun now. So for me, it was worth it. For others, maybe not. But I haven't regretted buying it.

Sorry i can relate to people have mixed opinions on a subject with there personal opinions of price /value etc coming from car audio forums... But if you got that extra cash go for it, Just as its said in car audio.. If you got it, you like it and want it .. Get it

ok.. not completely.. well the MSRP on the vehicle itself cannot be changed. parts and labor (mostly labor).. yes. and what's posted is posted.

that's why i would choose to buy something bone stock and add on my own parts afterwards. some stealerships will screw you on "labor" charges...

No worries. You are correct. People can agree or disagree with these kinds of choices, but in the end, I am the one paying for it, so it is my choice. And I'm happy with the choice I made.

Good luck with your deal tomorrow. Let us know how it goes. Then we can give you an official welcome to the club!

yup yup!! i would take a friend (one that owns a Scion preferably) to make sure the dealership doesn't do any underhanded tricks.

make sure you look over everything before signing.

and an advance welcome to the family
