Default New TWM tC short shifter!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to stop by and make a couple quick announcements regarding our Scion tC short shifter.

First, we now offer two separate models for the tC. Stage 1 is designed for those who would like to retain the stock **** height while still reducing the shift throw by approximately 25%. Stage 2 is the more aggressive model which has been on the market since the tC hit show rooms. It reduces **** height by 2.5" and shift throw by 35%.

Both parts are currently available on our website and we have also activated the promotional code TCTWM for the month of June. By entering this code during the checkout process you will receive a 10% discount on our both tC shifters. Also, shipping is free within the continental US and Canada.

Thanks,

Karel W.

I think it would be nice to have one where the height is 1-1.5" below stock. I hate the stock height and think 2.5" drop is too low, but that's just me.

What material is it? I may get one and cut/rethread it myself.

Same here, I would like to see a stage 1.5 with an inbetween drop.

Yeah but lower the height, the less leverage you have and a greater effort is needed to shift. You could make it 3.5" shorter than stock, the throws would be super short but it would be a total b**** to shift. IMO, shorter isn't always better.

ya i understand what your saying but on other cars ive driven its not any harder to shift and IMO even if it was its definitly worth it!

it all depends on the type of driver you are, for most people i wouldnt recommend a short throw shifter at all! i know my fiance probably wont like mine at all! oh well!

I prefer the stock height... IMO shorter lenght shifters put the **** too low. It's already a little hard to reach anyhow.

As long as the throw is reduced, the height is only for looks - I'd personally like something in between - enough to buy it right now. It's too bad I'd have to choose one or the other in this case... C'mon TMW... don't you want to make a third? 1.5" lower, 30% less throw...

i got the 2.5 inch drop one and it isn't bad at all, it got it nice and tight and no extra effort is needed to shift. also makes that little cubby hole easier to access.

Yeah... that might be nice... but even with the tricky folding activities people have been doing, I think the boot looks a little funny all short like that. If push comes to shove I'll probably just bite the bullet and get one eventually. I'd just really like something in the middle...

I'll just chime in with a "me too!" for the in-between drop of 1-1.5 inches...

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to point out that if you use one of our shift ***** combined with our Stage 1 tC shifter you will achieve approximately a 1.5" drop in height over stock if the shift **** is screwed down all the way. Our shift ***** are all counter-bored to allow them to thread on to the shifter more deeply. Plus, you'll gain the added benefit of having a weighted shift **** installed as well.

Thanks!

Karel W.

That's cool and all but I found out that metal shift ***** suck in the Summer time. My car sits in an open parking lot at my job and when I come outside, to car is like an oven even if I leave my sunroof open. I had to change back to my stock **** because the OBX Speedstar Mesh got so freakin' hot that it could practically burn me.

I wish the TMW shift **** looked... frankly like the stock ****. The OBX one is ok, but I like the stock and TRD ones better - too bad you don't just have a way to reskin the stock **** over a weighted core. I'd go for that. I don't want the weird looking aftermarket thing though.

It sucked when it came time for a little "solo lovin" later on

I'm all for stock height. That's why I've been considering the TRD short shifter. It keeps the same height but reduces the throws by about 20%... if TWM is making one at stock height now with a 25% reduction... Hmm...

the stock shifter and **** are just plain crap and butt ugly I have the TWM stage 2 with a Celica GTS leather **** and absolutely love it, it looks 300% better and feels just as good. Man the stock height remined me of my 1968 ford f100 with a 3speed on the floor..it felt that high to me.

If you buy the TWM shifter but don't want a TWM **** because of heat issues...(i want leather) what options do you have? What fits the shifter? I know there are 'universal' *****...but has anyone ever tried one of these *****?
