Default Newbie here looking for some help!!

Hello guys!

I have a 2005 Scion TC 130,000 miles Auto

My car started making a noise toward the bottom of the engine...it was like a knocking noise

Checked oil and it was fine....The noise stopped for about a month and a half now

This past weekend it came back!!! I was driving and heard the noise, pulled over on side of Highway and car will NOT start!!!

When u turn the key all the lights and everything is on (not battery)
The sound I hear when trying to start is almost that noise you get when you turn your key when the engine is already on!! Just not as loud!

I tried to change the starter but the new one did the same thing!!

1 mechanic told me it may be the Flywheel, maybe some teeth broke off and that cause the noise and now its not starting!

I have googled and searched but no luck!!
Anyone here have similar experience or heard anything like this??
Any other possibilities?

I appreciate your time for reading this and look forward for your opinions and experiences!!

Thank you!
