Sup guys,

I plan on getting a tC next month. The three accesories that I am considering are the mirror/6-disc CD changer/and subwoofer. Do any of you guys have these accessories? and do u feel that it was worth it?

Thanks!

forget all of those accessories. The mirror isn't really worth it, our cd player plays mp3's so you dont really need a six cd changer, and the subwoofer i heard was not worth it. what i would do is get the TRD shocks and struts, they make the car look 100X better, and it handles better too.

if you're tight on cash and want the cost spread out in your payments do it...

otherwise you can find these items cheaper on the internet...

the radio, i would buy a real aftermaket radio with tru sub out. might be the same price as dealer but will sound way better. and have future expansion.....

I like how the stock sub is nicely covered. Do u think I can get that cover somewhere? Also does the stock CD-player have RCA outputs for subs/amps?

cover? by that you really mean enclosure or box for understanding purposes.

Well the box is custom formed for the tC and is sized for the sub and has an internal amp... from what i've heard... the speaker is weak for most people's tastes, so if you're expecting a big BOOM, you'll prolly be disappointed.

I dont know about changing the speaker and amp out and putting something better in... but anythings possible i guess.

If youre not concerned with a ton of bass... but want a lil more than stock... go for the VSE, its fitted and looks better than any clunky box (unless you get a custom box built.).

I didn't get one b/c i'm satisfied with the factory setup for now. and i prefer performance options to audio options.

if you're up to it... you can get these options cheaper from other sources... but there is no financing in these options.
www.trdsparks.com
www.partznet.com
www.toyotaparts4u.com
and of course www.ebay.com
enjoy!

*oh and one more thing... if you're gonna waste money on a 6 disc cd player... why not just save the money and get an ipod and the cable to hook it up to the factory plug... more songs than any 6 mp3 cd's even with the smallest ipod*

the 6 disc changer sucks. Plus why use it? the single disc mp3 player can play about 200 mp3 tracks. How much music do you need per cd??? LOL

oh sure, NOW I read this thread! LOL... 4 hours ago I got my new BCP tC. The TRD shocks and struts aren't on the website... what do they cost and how do they affect the appearance? I assume they lower the car? By how much?

All I can say is WOW... there's potential in the tC which hasn't been tapped with the stock setup, for sure, but even stock it's a pretty damn fine car. Since I got mine in San Juan Capistrano and was gonna show it to my best friend (who lives in Corona), I naturally took my first drive on Ortega Highway. A little body roll (remember I'm used to a modified Miata) but what an enjoyable drive!

Oh and since this was a dealer-swap car, it had a few miles on it. Had to drive down from Glendale. So if it HAD to have miles on it, then the odometer reading when I got the key was as appropriate as possible. Of course, 69 miles. Hehehehe!

how much body roll does the shocks and springs actually eliminate

well the shocks and springs will eliminate some body roll, but they aren't the actual parts that handle the body roll, they just move up and down when the car moves (meaning when your car does body roll they just absorb it) and being stiffer shocks, they will eliminate some, but I bought the TRD Shocks, Springs and Rear Sway Bar combo and I have nearly eliminated body roll when it's set to "race" rather than "street" and the off-set is a little bumpier ride on rough roads, but it's a trade-off you have to make and it's a sacrifice worth doing in every sense of the way, I LOVE sticking the turns, it's awesome. It's the best mod I've done to my car so far.

... if you want the mirror, you have to NOT have the side airbags option... something about running wire and it interfering with the side curtains... someone correct me assuming Im mistaken.

The issue is, he already HAS the side airbags, and wants to know if he can now install the mirror after the fact.

I would think that that is an issue Toyota is dealing with or has come across. Better off asking the dealer.

personally, I'm getting the 6-cd changer, cuz I don't have the time to burn songs from regular cd's onto my computer into mp3's and then burn 200 mp3's back onto a cd. lol

So, for some ppl, a changer is great!

And I know I am one of the ppl with the mirror/airbag issues, probably cross posting from that. lol
