Default noobie question from a noobie

anyone can tell me the DIFFERENCES between the 2006 Scion tC and the 2007 Scion tC? I just need to know specific facts. If you can tell me everything I would really appreciate it. Because right now, I am trying to figure out if I want to get a brand new 07 or 06. Thanks guys.

- 07 has a slightly higher redline
- A hp or so increase, but a ft*lb drop or so in tq I believe
- The intake setup is a little different, so intakes, turbos etc for the other two will not fit

Those are the biggies that I know of. If you search you can find more.

Not that I know of. The cars are pretty much the same. Same engine (other than the intake portions), same compression, same mileage, practically the same power, etc. I am not sure about interior.

The HVAC board is different, but that only matters to those of us doing the led swaps for people or people doing them themselves.

Oh, the 07 has indicators for passenger seatbelt "ON" and "OFF", while the other two years simply have a passenger seatbelt light.

body/chassis wise, all tC's are the same.
Unless you can get a good deal on a used 06, or the dealer says you have to wait for a 07, I would rather get a 07 b/c it's almost 2007 already and you have to think about the value of the car.

Are talking about used? Because a) there are no "clearence rebate specials" on Scions of any flavor, and b) as far as I know, there are no new 06's left anywhere.

i know something w/ the mass air flow sensor was changed, the header design is also different, they added the tire pressure sensors to the 07s

They also slightly "freshened" the interior fabric. Seriously tho, the only big change was in the intake/exhaust system to make them compliant with the new 07 emmissions requirements.

^^ This has always confused me, EVERYTHING else about the 07 states the same bottom end and compression ratio. Of course, this wouldnt be the first mistake I have seen in these types of publications, but given all the other data, I would doubt the change in CR. I would like to get more info on this. There was something else that I cant quite remember that someone else found wrong with some of the publications on the tC. I will have to search around and find that one too. Very strange.......

Funny though... they mention the oiling grooves on the bearings.. quite a co-inky-dink with the crank/bearing failures that occured that dealers blamed on everything but an internal issue on the 05/06
