So I got into my car today and touched the shift **** and it gave my palm a blister because it was so hot

Anyone else have the ****? How do you deal with this problem?

Thanks

I always try to park in the shade and I always use my windshield sun blocker so my car is usually not hot when I get in after 8 hours at work. I have the OBX Classic Leather shift *** on mine. But at times when i am parked in direct sunlight, the shift *** and the steering wheel does get extremely hot. Oh well, what are you gonna do...

just find something to throw over it, it really doesn't matter what it is, you just need to block out the sunlight.

Heck, if you get desperate just screw off the **** and put it in your pocket and take it with you

I have the metal sport OBX shift **** and that thing burns! And I noticed that even if I try to cover it up with something (say, a cloth baggie) just to keep the sun from hitting it, it's still hot. So yea, just shiftrealfast.

Keep one of those neoprene can cozies in the center console. Throw it over the **** whenever you get out of the car. That's what I would use back when I had my TWM stainless ****. On a summer day, it was like grabbing the business end of a soldering iron.

I have a delrin shiftknob now. No more problem.

Just use racing gloves. Or a golfing glove if you're left-handed.

You shold get use to driving with the **** it'll teach you to shift faster. lol. But yeah whenever you park, in direct sunlight or not, you can always throw something over it to keep it cool. Or just make it a gangsta **** and wrap a bandana around it. I don't know how safe it is but I have always done it in the past. Provides nice grip too.

I had the same problem with my Sparco shift **** so I just took it off and put back on the leather TRD one. Luckily though my mom works in a fabric store and is going to help make me a cover for it. I'm sure a sock would work just fine also as long as you make sure its clean.
