Odometer not accerate anymore
when i first got my tC my mph was on the dot. now its like 2 mph off...it only has about 3k miles on it so i cant be the tire wear right? is the counter thing dirty?
the side of the road speed radar. theres a few around where i live. when it my car has barely 100miles it showed the same speed as the radar.
now its about 2 miles off.
also my sisters beetle does this too but its more like 4mph higher.

the "side of the road" radar is crude equipment... 2 mph off is like nothing on an analog meter..
if you're that crazy about it, get yourself a GPS and use that instead to compare.. not some run-of-the-mill radar thing on the side of the road.

the OP of this thread fails...
speedometer indicates MPH, your odometer indicates overal total mileage accumulate.
road side radar is not 100% accurate, neither is GPS tracking devices, and neither are speedometers, they are about 98-99% accurate. so 1 to 2 mph off isn't a big deal. when traveling with my garmin nuvi, it was off by about 1 mph from the speedometer, not a huge deal.
