wheel with tire - 42lbs, tire is around 22-23, so the rim is around 19lbs.

You gotta be kidding me... First time I hear somebody trying to take into account lug nut weight for a street car... The lug nuts are so close to rotational axis that their weight is not going to make significant difference.

In any case - 5 lug nuts - what 1lb?

In my street car, I could not care less about lug nut weight. On a track car, however, yes, it will make a difference, if only slight. If you think replacing lug nuts for weight savings is insane, how about replacing wheel studs? http://www.mettec.com/latemodel.htm hahaha. This only makes a difference for the no A/C, no sound deadening, no interior, "got to take a crap before I race crowd."

I am not sure, as I don't have a scale handy. However, when I put on snow tires, I recevied open ended lug nuts to properly mount the tires. They were, I estimate, half the weight of the stock lug nuts.

I have light weight Kyokugen open ended lug nuts on my 240sx. The packaging says that they weigh 25g per nut. The whole pack of 20 nuts weighs just over a pound!

Have you had any problems with them?

I haven't run them yet on my car. I'm waiting on additional parts so that I can swap everything at the same time (spindles, hubs, wheels). I hear that you need to be careful with them, though. 60ft-lbs of torque, anti-seize on the threads, and absoltely no impact wrenches are what have been recommended to me by friends. They cost me $45 on eBay. I had to buy lug nuts anyways, so might as well spend a few extra bucks on some nice ones! They're also 7-sided for built in safety (yes, you get a special socket).
