Alright let me clear things up for you guys the 3 rings is not from overheating its just a factory malfunction. And yes the intercooler is bad and will make your 360 freeze more becuse its useing to much power from the 360 ya it keeps the xbox kooler but its jsut over useing the 360s power supply. what i did with my box is i took two 2X4s and layed the xbox horizantaly on the 2x4s so its lifted from the surface and can get more air flow.

 

good idea... what you can do to is get a small fan and keep it flowing towards your xbox so that it keeps it nice and cool and you dont have to use the intercooler.

 

well.. i'm gonna have to test that too much power theory... how much can 3 fans really pull... the power supply should be able to handle slightly different load because different xbox games will require different processing power... i will try to see how much power the fans draw compared to the amount of power the xbox needs to the amount of load the power supply can handle... i doubt it's that much of a difference.... but to each their own...

I'm a XBOX n00b but what's the difference between the elite and the core and the other one? I want a 360 but I want to mod my xBox first. but when I do get a 360, I'm getting the Forzas and the PGRs first. Hehehe

 

1. core is the base xbox model... no additional memory.. basically what u need to play game right out the box...nothing fancy
2. 360 premium.. adds the 20gb harddrive, headset and wireless controller.. i also believe trial period of xbox live
3. elite.. is premium 360 plus black color case and i think added memory for hard drive..

imho the elite isnt worth the price.

im a current original xbox owner and have decide to skip the 360 and go straight to a ps3. i also get free rental games from my best friend that works at movie gallery here in NC.. and they always carry 3-4 times more PS games than xbox. go figure.

i have the elite, i hated the white cuz i knew it was going to get dirty really quick.

1. core comes with the xbox 360 itself, a wired controller, and av cable.

2. premium comes with the xbox itself, wireless controller, hard drive (smaller one), a headset, internet cable, hdav cable.

3. elite comes with a wireless controller, black console, 120gb hard drive, internet cable, hdav cable, hdmi cable, and a free membership to xbox live silver.

 

hey tctctc... so the elite really doesnt have added power or better performance.. just really added memory and better picture quality? how much more was the elite vs the premium??

correct, the elite is more of a i hate the white. if u go anywhere, ull never see it in stock. i got the last one they had. but, if u got a core and put it all together, it would be a lil more than the elite package.

 

id say elite is worth it since it has 120gb of hard drive and premium only comes with 20gb... if u want to buy the hd itself (120gb), its about $200 i think or less. id get the elite, 47 bux more than premium and it has bigger hd.

 

If you guys hate the white you can save money and just buy a new case and face plate for your box. I wanna get mirror chrome for mine.

 

I think I saw like 2 or 3 Elites @ Target yesterday. Or maybe they were just regular XBOXs under the spot where it had an Elite price tag. Thanks for all the help guys. So Elite its gonna be! (When I get the $$$ that is ) does Elite play HD DVDs? (I know that's a n00b question so please excuse me!) I'm a Playstation kid so yeah.

 

yup yup it does. i was a playstation kid also until i saw the price tag on the PS3. only reason i got the elite is cuz my mom pitched in some $$

 

plus i think the elite has the hd dvd built in while the premium diesn't you have to buy the hd dvd player separate

 

im going to say it now. DO NOT BUY THE INTERCOOLER!!!!!!! it gave me the 3 rings of death in HONESTLY 7 MINUTES!!!!!!!!!!!! but my xbox cured itself immediately after i screamed like a girl and took the intercooler out. DO NOT GET IT!!!! BEWARE!!!! I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS!!!!

 

200 bucks for a hd dvd player isnt too bad ^^
