Default Oil Change gone Wrong....neeed help quick

Hey guys, I know this is gonna sound stupid but i need help.

-i was doing an oil change on my 07 tc cuz the maintainece light was on
- so i did the usual, emptied the oil, cahnge the filter, put in 4 bottles of liquid gold 5w-20.

-ran the motor for like a minute or 2 and it ran fine, went to go eat, and when i wanted to get my car out of the garage, the car just died, then when i tried again, it was idling hard between 1k and 250 rpm. some black smoke was comming from the exhaust with a little black speckles.

-i know it doesnt' take a rocket science, but i think maybe too much oil? i fouled the spark plugs and yeah.

-help please!!!! ____ i might have to call in sick for work cuz i got no car.

-imma use my dad's car to head to kragens and asked for their advice.-

-____ my family is gonna be ____ed but imma tell them

-please help u guys, catch u in a bit.

black smoke is fuel, oil is blue/grey

you fouled your sparkplugs you're fine. take them out and look at them

This is odd.

Did you check the oil with the dipstick after it sat for a few minutes?

3.75 quarts is usually what the tc takes su unless you diudn't drain all the oil somehting doesn't make sense.

Go ahead and redrain all the oil and make sure you don't have your car on some kind of crazy tilt that may affect how much of your oil is draining.

Start process over....and fast.

Unless they changed something after the 2005 model, the tC takes exactly 4 quarts if you are ALSO changing the filter. If you leave the filter alone, it takes less... but if the filter is new (empty) then you need 4.

I don't think it is anything to do with the oil. At least it shouldn't be. Definitely shouldn't be overfilled unless you somehow didn't drain it completely.

dont believe what others are telling you. if you see full on the dipstick and it took 3.75qts then thats what it takes. Ive seen many tc's that also only take 3.75qts, and yes (to others reading) the oil was completely drained before refilling. 4qts wouldve overfilled.

so.. krisindahouse, youre not alone in the 3.75qt fill being full.

07 Manual on Scion Tc says 4.0 quarts.

Thats what i've been doing. 4.0 quarts and no issues for 40K miles so far. With 4qts, my dipstick goes straight to full and not over.

Make sure you use the 4qt you have to fill the filter and whatsever left to fill the car.

The tC has oe iridium plugs stock. Unless you have 60-80K miles on the car, no other plug will be an upgrade in case you purchased some crap nickle tips. Use only NGK or Denso iridium in your tC.

Strange issue, there is another factor here we are missing. Did you do anything, and I mean anything else to the car at all..? Air filter, anything like that during the oil change?
