Okay to cut a license plate?
So I finally got my bumper license plate for my tc and and I think the height is too big to fit the front bumper completely.. Just wondering if there is a law on cutting a license plate? pretty much this is a picture of what i want to do..
I really hate front license plates but Im provisional and cant afford to get stop so im trying to find a way to make the license plate look ok on a tc...

I'm gonna msg scioncop about this but I also wanna share this idea to people who fashion european license plates.

well, from what i know in MA, your cant cut the plate to my knowledge...what i would do instead is put it in a vise and bend it at that line, then vise it up and flatten the hell outa it....
In California, you CANNOT do this legally. I've seen it done once on a Toyota to try to makeit look like one of those Euro plates. Fooled me for a second, then I looked again and it just looked cheap. I don't suggest you do it. What might be safer to is buy an actual Euro plate, mount that, and leave your regular plate in the front windshield. If that's what you're really going for, that is. I can't imagine how your license plate "doesn't fit" on your bumper.

I recall someone on here with a tC that was showing off angel eyes, and it looked like the front plate was fitted into the grille. The tC was parked in single-car garage and it looked like it was raining outside.
you cant hack up the plate.....my friends got in trouble for that .... but you can hide parts of it. pretty much you can cover as muchof the plate, as a license plate frame can coverit . such as putting it behind a bumper or part of a the grill how ever you can fix it up. you just can't visibly cut the plate to pieces.
Since the size requirement is set, I think it wouldn't be a good idea to cut it. Also, if you have personalized plates and they decide that this is mutilation, you'd probably have to pay for replacement plates as well as having to change your plate cuz they don't reissue the same one.
Probably depends on the officer too. Both times I got a ticket this summer, the CHP never even looked twice at my ride, they only made it to the passenger window... Your experiences may vary...

I say just do it. Better than not having a front plate at all. If you get a ticket, it wont be very much. Might as well give it a shot. The same thing as when you use a plate frame, you cut off half an inch or so on each side. DO IT!
I bent my front plate on my crx like this /\/ if you look from the side, but not quite that accute,
my car was a cop magnet but I never got bothered for the plate and it was reversable if I ever did
