omg
omg, last night, me and this guy in his mustang pulled up at a red light, when it turned green, both of us floored our cars. the wheels were spinning then the cars darted off. my car was going the same speed as the mustang, then i noticed that i was slowly beating him. after that, *sighs* i heard a noise coming from his car that sounded like nos. it made a loud TSSSST noise. and his car zoomed me.
i guess he couldnt take the pressure of being beat by a tc. i only have a injen cai in my car. and his mustang looked like it was 99 or 00. i started laughing at the end but w/e. i had fun.

you actually had me goin the up until the part where its says u beat an evo haha
well this might help...or not but anyway i raced a friend of mine at the track he has a 05 v6 ranger its the same motor in the v6 mustang except for different exhaust ,its around 207 hp the stangs is 210, i ran 16.4 1/4 he ran a 16.3 he barely beat me and that was my first run,now granted the stang is lighter than the ranger, and the gearing in the ranger aint for drags, so i would say a v6 stang is faster but not by much.
schwettynuts wat are you talking about, if he would of won without the nos then why did he use it?!? he was losing, therefore he needed it. n e ways, u guys dont have to believe me, i drove the thing so i kno wat happened. also it was a ragtop stang, i kno they weigh more than the hardtop, thats probably why i won for a while till he used the dreaded NOS.

There are a LOT of factors that effect who would win a race. One of the biggest is the driver. I've seen two guys race dirt bikes, obviously one guy won. They switched bikes and raced again. The same guy won.
Setup has a huge impact on the outcome. I had a Kawaski Nina ZX9-R several years ago and I raced it a few times at a local 1/8th mile track. I never was any good at the drag because I was too afraid of damaging the bike so I never had a great launch. It was all horsepower and shifting that determined my performance. Anyway, some friends and I were at the track one day for some bracket racing. Before the brackets started they let us just run down the track for practice. Well, I pulled up to the line beside a Honda CBR 600 that had an extended swinarm, was lowered, etc. The light turned green and he was GONE! He was over half way down the track before I hit second. He blew me away because his bike was setup to run that 1/8th and he had a quicker reaction. I was up against him again when the brackets started. I left first, being the slower racer. A little past half track he zipped up beside me but then it became a horsepower race and I beat him to the line easily.
Another example. Many many years ago I had an '84 Dodge Charger with a naturally aspirated 2.2L 4 cyl. A good friend had an 80 something Dodge Daytona Turbo. If I remember right that was a 2.2L also. We were bored and there wasn't anyone else around racing so we decided to see what the Dodges would do. When we started I jumped out in front. I was out in front by about a car length or so until we reached 40ish and then he flew by me. That race was effected by setup and possibly the driver. My car being non-turbo had the advantage from the start because there was no turbo-lag to deal with, there was turbo-lag in those days. I can't remember exactly but I don't remember him revving the engine much so he didn't do anything to overcome the turbo-lag so his driving cost him the jump.
I can see a TC outrunning a V-6 Mustang. I was riding through town one day on my way to Wal-Mart. I stopped for a red light. A yellow V-6 Mustang pulled up beside me. I was too busy watching a traffic stop across the intersection to notice him. When the light turned I left at a normally pace but I let the RPMs rev up to about 4K before shifting. Apparently the Mustang thought I was racing. The next thing I know I hear this motor roar and come up beside me. That's when I realized he was even there. From what I could tell, I don't have much doubt that in a real race I could've taken him at least from the start through the first couple of gears.
Please think before you criticize. Just because you don't believe something can be done doesn't mean it can't. Where would we be if everyone had that attitude. They once believed the world was flat. THEY were wrong.
