well sorta lol. I think im going to do SOMETHING interior. I'm leaning towards a dvd player and screens in the headrest. if I can figure out how to at least get the headrest screens to work while driving. Its either that or a turbo. The bad thing about a turbo is A. it cost a LOT...and B. im worried about down the line with the car because it is my daily driver and all...so i dunno

I had to drill some holes about one CM back in the stock brackets to get it to fit and still have the door close. Also needed some spacers http://cgi.ebay.com/Scosche-TA1465B-...QQcmdZViewItem to fill gaps to either side of the deck. It was a fun install.

As far as the unit goes, I love it. I went from a Pioneer 8600 to the Alpine 9857 to the IVA-w200 when my store started carrying it. It has the ipod functionality built in so you only need the 20 dollar Alpine ipod cable. It accesses the ipod a lot faster than the 9857 and the Pioneer with its ipod adapter. DVD playback has been pretty good, I haven't messed with it too much and haven't really had time to hook up an Xbox or PS2 to test gaming on it. Also, it doesn't have navigation built in, you'd have to use either their Blackbird unit($750) with a docking cradle or their NVE-N872A($1700.00) dvd based navigation unit.

The only thing that was a pain was probably the override switches, you're supposed to run one wire to the brake light lead, and another wire to the parking brake lead. The sequence you're supposed to do is step on the brake, pull the parking brake twice, release the brake, and then you can access the 2nd half of the menus, and do dvd playback on the screen. I just installed two switches to get around it, but there's a PAC unit you can buy for 20 bucks on ebay that'll do the sequence automatically.

Another iffy thing about it would probably be that you can't really tweak a lot of audio settings straight from the unit. You have to create audio profiles on the i-personalize.alpine.com website, and then burn them to a disc to load them on the unit.

Just wishing you a Happy Birthday!!
