Default Ordered TRD Springs. Plus Prices!

we just ordered the trd springs for our demonstrator and should be here thursday. we will lower the car on friday and hopefully i'll have pics up by then. we also got the trd rear strut bar but we won't install it on the car. we want to see what the springs will do to the car and were going to pay close attention to the rear suspension. if the springs reduce the roll and pitch of the rear during hard cornering then we will stay with current set up.

Hi Rich,
Great, please keep the forum posted on what you think about the TRD springs as I'm sure some of us (including myself) are considering them. Also, any idea on how much the springs will cost? Thanks, Jayme

xA and xB trd springs was 1" drop. the tC is a 1.2" but should bring the tC from a 4 finger gap to a 2 finger gap all around. the tC should look lowered not slammed. the great thing about trd springs is that it can be used with factory shocks. i had trd springs on my gts for 4 years and never had to replace the shocks cause it wasn't overworked by the springs. most springs that have a 1.5" drop or more usually leads into replacement shocks within 10-15k miles.

here's my celi with the trd spings in a san diego celica meet and the same exact car below stock. the trd springs for the celica was 1.25" front and 1.0" rear. sorry, couldn't find better pics.

shocks: $ 525.00 installation?

rear sway bar: $ 165.00 installation?

Is it worth to install the TRD shocks? Or the stock shocks are plenty? I am thinking about installing both the springs and the shocks, but if there is no noticable handling improvement, I will skip the TRD shocks.

there will be a difference but more so when driven aggressively. if you drive it normally which most people do 90% of the time you won't feel the difference between the two.

I wonder if these will be ricer springs/shocks ("Yo dawg, I gatz mad drop son.") or properly designed ones. How do the spring rates compare to the stock ones?

Rich, man, quick question for you.

Any idea on whether the TRD springs are regional or not?

I'm getting my tC in a few days and my dealer is still insisting that the springs will not be available until the octoberish... with the supercharger... any idea on whether this is just a locational thing or not?

Or are they just not available to the public yet?

trd springs have always been pretty well designed. i took my celica to 2 dozen autox at qualcomm stadium and 5 times during redline track events at streets of willow. my car did pretty well considering that all it had was i/e, springs and shortshifter. one event had a bunch of itr owners and i was always in the top 4 in the all motor runs against guys with internal engine work done.

i didn't get a chance to ask about the spring rates for the tC.
