Default Ordering a TC

Hey guys just a quick question,

My girl is looking into getting another tc in the spring. She wants it to be exactly what she wants, I was wondering can you place an order for one, meaning order one and have them build it like they do with other higher-end cars. I know you can do it, with BMW, Benz, etc.
I know its kinda stupid but this is what she just wants it exactly the way she wants and she also wants it brand NEW!.

I understand if the dealer had exactly what she wants then there is no point but if not then i guess your in a perdicoment.

Thanks guys

I know i she can do that but i was wondering if the dealer could order one to be built at the factory.

She is looking for a white, tc. Nothing really special a couple add ons but like everyone knows its so much cheaper to order it from sparks or other online places and install it yourself.

im sure if u go to the dealer and tell them u want the color with certain options they will have it done. isnt that that they do when u get options installed?

You are confusing me. She wants a new tC with add-ons... so go to the Scion dealer and order it? If you don't want to pay the dealer markup and the add-ons then order them from Sparks and have them installed after she gets the car. I guess I don't really understand your dilemma.

The thing is she wants the car to come in on the truck and have the wrapping still on the car when she takes delievery. She isn't building it with all the options, that she will do afterwards. All she really wants is the car that she knows know one has driven or sat in.

So basically all you are asking is how she gets a BRAND new car? That's easy, go talk to the dealer.

Yeah you can get one that "no one has driven" I did that and it came in with 4 miles on it. It was brand new and just off the truck so no one test drove it, but it was driven before me. But if she doesn't even want the plastic taken off of the car, I would think it would be hard for the dealer to install the her options. I was thinking about that route but in the end I just wanted my car asap. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the dealer told me that the options are put on at the port or at the dealership, I can't really remember, but I don't think they are not custom built like a BMW inside the factory. Or at least that is what I understood from the dealer.

Back when I was getting my tc two years ago, I actually ended up ordering from my dealer directly because they and other nearby dealers did not have a tc in stock with the side airbags installed. I didn't like all the ones in stock either. So he asked me to make a deposit of $500 to initiate the order from the factory. I was actually ready to shell out $6K as down anyways but he didn't want to take it yet. So I wrote a check for $500 and signed an order form with all the other "request" (i.e. no other stuff like spoiler, just stock) and he actually showed me how he entered the order in the computer as proof.

In the end I had to wait three months before the car came in from the Port of Los Angeles. I kept calling my dealer every week for updates. Then one day he called and said ship arrived and they would get the car by end of the day . I got my car in October 2006, the car was made, if I remember it right, August 2006.

I also wanted a 0-mile brand new car, but my dealer explained that the factory had to test drive the car and transport/drive it throughout the delivery. It had 6 miles when the car arrived.

Ask your dealer if he can do the same like what mine did. Was it worth the wait? Yeah. At least I got what I wanted. GL!

Got mine with about 5 miles on it too. It had been sitting in a dealer's back lot all wrapped up in plastic. I got the one I wanted, but it happened to be located at a dealer about 20 miles away from the dealership where I was making the transaction. They wanted to unwrap it and drive it 20 miles on the freeway to bring it to my location, but I insisted they put it on a truck instead. It took a couple of extra hours, but the truck arrived with my tC on the back and no one else got to drive it (except for the loading and unloading).

you can order ANY Car "made to order".

Scion, com is what most dealers use to help customers build their cars

I got mine right off the truck with 2 miles on it, i drove it from the scion part of the dealer, around the freeway, and to the financing for my 'test drive' to make sure nothing blew up.

I was the first person ever in the car since it was off the truck..

It's not uncommon actually.

Hahahahahaha, You should see how the cars are driven when they get here. I used to work with the railroad and one of my supervisors told me how the cars were driven off the trains, the people are paid per car so they run to the car, start it, floor it (the faster cars actually get some air coming off the ramp) get parked as quickly as possible then run off to get the next car. Even though I haven't seen them coming off the boat from Japan at the Toyota port, it's probably the same way or at one point they were put on a train to be transported to another state.

Mine had 9 miles when I went for the test ride. I took delivery of it a couple days later with 15 miles on it. The 6 were put on by me on the test drives.
