So I just wanna say I am highly impressed with the scion windshields. About two weeks ago in my work van "2000 astro" the windshield practically shattered from a 1/4 inch pebble on i-5.... Last night I was driving in my tc and a dump truck with 1 inch river rock was in front of me I just about passed him when 4 rocks flew over the side of his truck one slow motion i swear lol DRILLED my windshield at 70 mph on i-5 and to my amazement this gun shot noise from the rock did nothing....
THANK YOU SCION for making great windshields

now only if they can get the paint to stay on after a rock hit.
I got hit by 3 rocks a few days ago on my way to work, 2 hit the windshield but one hit my hood. now i have one more rock chip to add to my list of 'things to fix'

yeah, i have to say, after many many many trips down the interstate with my tc, several times i heard something smack the windshield and and i would be like F***! i bet i'm going to find a chip" and yet would never find one. i don't know if i'm lucky or scion just built a great windshield.

hahaha damn that suckkkssss
but srsly. whats up with this cheap paint? i swear i have like 2 or 3 nicks to touch up.
my windshield was repairable, but to say the least I don't think scion has amazing windshields. if the sunlight hits mine at a certain angle i can barely see out of it with all the tiny chips.

I've seen some pretty amazing windshields in my day.
Ironically, the Dodge Neon was one of them also, next to the tC.
I had a 2001 Neon and was out in the west suburbs on I-355 (west chicagoland) and i was passing a big semi-trailer. It was winter time and the tops of these trucks aren't cleared of snow. So it melts, and then refreezes into ice.
As I was passing it, the truck and I hit a lump in the road and the truck lurched vertically, causing the ice to fly up and catch the wind at 70-80mph.
All I saw was this giant shadow traveling on the ground towards me and across the hood of the car before this slab of ice that easily covered half the windshield slammed down on to it. The slab shattered and I freaked out and jerked the wheel.
Harmlessly, the ice wiped away by the momentum of the car and the smaller fragments by the wipers.
Most amazing windshield story i've ever lived through. I'm sure there are better ones out there, so I'm not trying to 1-up anyone here, just saying that, like the original poster, I was totally blown away by the toughness of the windshield of the car i was driving at the time.
