Default Over Oiling filter?

I tried searching online & SL but nothing came up?

Last night I was reconditioning my CAI filter and I was putting on the oil. Just few minutes ago, I checked on it and saw extra oil came out of it. So in other words I kind of over oiled it. I have some oil left inside the filter on the bottom rubber piece. I'm aware about MAF senor with over oiling.

Anyone have ideas?

When I touch the filter webbing I do feel little more oil than the last time I reconditioned (That was my first time ever and I was being very careful) but I don't get any oil left on my hands? The only several part is the small pile of oil on the rubber piece and I think that was caused by me sitting the filter upway overnight.

hmm...its most definately from your oiling....i doubt it would hurt though...except sensors..it might send the sensors through a loop or damage them...i havent ever oiled a car intake filter but on my dirtbikes the filter forms around a frame so i could oil it, and then squeeze out any excess oil so its just the right amount....i'm assuming this CAI filter is made onto a framae that you cant remove......the only reason i did it on a dirtbike is because of the thick dust its directly in...i wouldnt think a car would need it unless you frequently drive through thick dust/dirt.....anyways, im no expet but theres my .02

good luck

I put the filter on and I started it. Started without problem and let it run for good 30 minutes. Odd thing is...car ran alot quietier while it was idling. I drove it for 30 minutes; no problems and accelrated better than the first time I reconditioned.

So maybe I didn't screw up; maybe I actually did it properly than the first reconditioned try I'm still going to worry about cause usually when I worry about something..it usually goes better or okay.

Yeah that filter kept coming up when I did searches. Anyone have the part # for TRD CAI for '07? I could only find the part # for '06. And how much are they? I've been wanting to buy extra filters just for this reason. Cause I knew one day it was going to happen.

You just need to know the piping diameter -- My Injen is 3" but not sure about TRD.

it is recommended to wash the filter again if you over oiled...

btw when you wash it.. then wait 4-5 hours until it dried then oil it.. leave it there for another hour if you see no oil drop then you are good to go
