Default Paint discoloration

I noticed that some tCs, the bumpers (plastic parts) are slightly off color to the rest of the metal panels of the vehicle. I noticed that some tCs where the bumpers are slightly darker than the rest of the car.

...or is it just me?

cwayne... the slight color differentiation you see is due to the way the paint cures on sheet metal vs. plastic.

if you look closely, all cars are like that, some more noticeable than others.

This is true. My white 07 bumpers are a little different. Almost a yellow color. I believe this is due to the black stock of the bumper. I dunno.

i notice this on the rav4--esp the rear tire cover --since its plastic it always look a different shade than the rest of the car--

and when i had the front end of my car repainted the paint shop told me it wouldn't match perfectly cause the metal would be darker and the urethane or plastic parts wouldn't match 100%.....unless they just told me some crap since i complained that it looked different when i picked it up......

That\'s what I\'m concerned about after my accident. I didn\'t notice that difference until after I got the car back from the shop. I thought those guys were BSing me by saying that the plastic/metal sets differently. The funny thing is I didn\'t notice it before the accident.

However, the side that wasn\'t touched also has the slight discoloration so I guess it is really like that. It\'s funny how after an accident, I became even more aware of the small details with my car.

It's true. I'm getting my whole car done up in diamond plate, road warrior style!

Maybe I can get in touch with Don and see if he still has his brush guard.

Or you could always go VW Harlequin style and not worry about paint matching.
