I have had my Siebon carbon fiber hood for a few years now and it is starting to yellow. I called a local body shop about getting it painted and they didnt know how to prep and paint CF. Is it the same as doing any other panel on the car or do you have to prep it differently to keep the paint on CF from yellowing or chipping. Thanks for the help everyone.

you mean the gloss? just have them wetsand it (forgot what grit #) and respray it with a few coats of gloss

 

nah i want them to paint over the carbon fiber. I want it paint matched super white like my car. is there any difference in painting a CF hood then painting an OEM hood?

You can paint CF.
I did it to my FAB wing. Looks great also.

Honestly, if the paint shop doesnt know how to paint CF then DO NOT let them paint it.

 

just wet sand it and load more clear on it and buff that ish!!!

Now you've got me thinking about CF hood and hatch, painted FM... Hmmmm......

 

just get it re-glossed....doesnt seibon or vis come with a life-time warranty?..i know FI does...i got mine re-glossed or w/e its called for free =)
