Default Passat or Civic

Well as some of you know i am not planning on getting the new tC, just b/c it didnt appeal to me. But My Question is Should I go with the Honda Civic or the Volkswagon Passat?? What are the pros and cons of both cars?? I personally like sporty but also classy luxary cars.

Would suggest you go to a Civic or Passat forum as I think this group is more for the tC person.

Well if you don't like the tC, I can't really see how you would be happy with a civic. The passats a nice car, but shouldn't you be comparing it to the Jetta? I mean if your looking at the passat, how about the Mazda 6 or the Nissan Altima?

Tell me about it...I honestly can't see how you could be more impressed with a Civic then the tC. If this was about a Mazda 3 then OK...but a Civic? I guess out of these two, I would recommend the Passat.

I think the GTI 1.8T is a better comparison to the tC. If I had to chose though it would be the passat

Infiniti G35 Coupe. Sure it's 10-15k more than the tC, but it's the best value for a classy, luxury car you'll find. How do Civics and Passats fit into your car preferences? Both are neither sporty nor luxurious. Better off getting a used Lexus...

LOL, I've been telling him to change his name for a while now...
Why are you comparing a Passat with a Civic, those two cars have absolutely nothing in common...well besides the fact that they both suck! Whatever you do, don't buy a Civic, they are overpriced and underpowered, you would be better off buying an Accord! Seriously though, what's next Ferrari vs. Kia Rio?

get a RSX or Altima. go for civic si if you really want a civic. not recommand any German car, i know they are good, but just the reilable issues need to be address before any consideration. for civic, if you want to get the vp/lx model, i would suggest you get a xA instead, the special release for xA is coming, why not take a look? manual xA's accelration is pretty good in city, it's fun to drive around city street, and you can also race around base minis (stay away from mini S). mazda 3 is another hot option, at least better choice than civic. or you want some respect from girls, you can get a lancer and "dress up" like a evo, that's cheaper than a real evo, at least i saw couple of "fake" evos around.

Haha i just saw what I thought was a fake evo in SF (geary and 5th). How do you know if it's real or not?

all i can do is hear the engine noise....really can't tell, but since i heard the real evo noise before, i can at least tell which one seems to be fake.

another thing, when i was in 19th ave like 2 days ago, saw an evo next to me, sounds wreaky loud....but it's accelration even slower than my auto 93 corolla. i don't think that one have a manual tranny. i can hear it shift but man, trust me, that's not the sound you can expect from a high perfomance car....so...i think that's the a fake evo.

Well, I wouldn't choose the Civic 'cause everybody and their mom has one and they don't provide any extra "cool" factor. They're just a plain car, albeit reliable.

I wouldn't get a Passat either. The reliability issues are pretty much gone, and the new 2.0 diesel is now available for it, but the MKIV platform is being phased out and next year all the VW models will be totally different making your "new" Passat "the old model". They are sweet luxurious roomy powerful cars, but I personally would get something else nowadays.

The Mazda 6 is nice, as are used BMWs, Lexuses, and Volvos. WRXs are sporty. Really, in that price range there's a lot of choices...

P.S. It's spelled VolkswagEn.

I didn't vote couldn't find the option for niether. and yeah this is a tC forum don't you think you should have posted that on VW or honduh board? anyway the VW will be a _____ to maintain and if you get a civic get a 01-02 they look better then the newer ones imo. I really don't care for either though. I say get a ford focus or 99 ford mustand or a kia Rio.
