Default Pendu1um's Picture/Small Build Thread.

Hey guys, got my 2010 CSM tC a few months ago and I am loving it. My plans for this car are to keep it clean with a few basic mods (springs, 05-07 tails, exhaust, and possibly eyelids.) I am definitely going to pick up these parts in the next coming weeks and I am currently looking for input on which springs/exhaust to get (don't want a huge exhaust, looking for something that looks somewhat stock like the TRD/Borla exhaust, and something that is used so I can save some money.) For the springs, I am really liking the look of the Hotchkis's and how they are good for daily driving.

For what your going to pay for springs you might as well look into some raceland or Rokkor coilovers

Check craigslist for exhaust, I've seen a few TRD posted locally.

the greddy se is a nice looking oem style exhaust. rokkor coilovers are nice too for the price.

Will look into it, but I would rather spend 180-ish on springs that have a decent ride then low end coils that have a harsh ride.

Nothing is in my area :/

Thanks for the recommendation, the tip is still a little too big for my liking. I think I am just going to try to get a used TRD exhaust from someone local or on here. How is the ride on the rokkor's btw? I am curious on how they compare to a good set of springs.

Harsher, just because they're stiffer than springs, as most coilovers are. Not terrible though, fine for daily driving, just not the softest ride. If you want to slam the car or otherwise have adjustable height, look into them. Otherwise, go with springs for a less harsh ride.

Thanks for the info man. I will definitely look into these once I have money in the next few weeks.

Bump, ordering the following parts in 2 weeks when i get my paycheck.

-Hotchkis Springs
-Ptuning License Plate Relocater
-Vrd/Fig Grilles
-Possibly an exhaust (trd, or something with a little bit of noise that looks stock.)

After all of these parts are ordered/installed, I will be possibly painting my wheels. I have been thinking about painting them black, dark blue, bronze, etc. Any ideas or other suggestions would be appreciated.

Edit: New pictures of my stock tC, can't wait for all of the mods :D. (sorry for the iphone pics, lol.)

Bump, I get my paycheck tomorrow! I will be most likely ordering the following parts tomorrow.

-License Plate Relocator
-VRD Grilles
-Possibly an exhaust if I can find a good deal on one.. (trd/borla)

These parts are definitely going to be ordered tomorrow. I am most likely going to wait to get springs for a little bit because I want to find a shop that will do the installation for a good price.

When I began modding my tC I too was like "just these few things and I am down". But that didnt happen

You have a nice list so far. Just a few thoughts from me:

-I ordered eyelids for my car and waited for my friend to get a heatgun so we could apply it correctly. I ended up buying his 08 tc headlights from him and the same time he finally got a heatgun. For some reason, the eyelids were not correctly aligning (I got them for $30). So be careful when purchasing them and dont go cheap.

-Definitely get the VRD grills. I have them and got them for $50 on eBay. I must say, it changes the look of the front of the car dramatically.

-Some popular exhausts are the Tannabe Concept G and the TRD exhaust. I personally own the TRD exhaust and love it.

-I recommend instead of springs to just get coils. Springs are gonna run you about $200 either way. You can buy rokkor/raceland coils for $350 and give you more advantages than springs. For one, you can adjust the height at your liking. Also, most springs dont go low past a certain point, so if you want a low or even a slammed look, definitely go for coils. Lastly, upgrading springs and using them can eventually blow your stock struts. Save them by getting coils. And your question on coils; if you are a teenager, you shouldnt really care about the ride quality.I actually prefer the ride of my rokkors to the stocks. They are a little bouncier on certain parts of the freeway and over some bumps like deep manhole covers and potholes.

-You might also want to look into foglights as well. You can get the OEM or also the VRD/APT style fog lights: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/220816922283

-Definitely look for 05-07 tails

Good luck with your modding

Yeah lol, I really hope I don't get too crazy with all the modding. Thanks for the input on springs vs. coils, I have decided to just wait another month or so and get rokkors or racelands. As for the mods I am getting now, they are the grilles/ptuning plate relocator. I am also looking for a good price on a used trd exhaust in my area or somewhere online (same for the 05-07 tails ).

How is the Greddy SE exhaust too big? Its pretty much in the same category as the TRD exhaust. Its pretty much just an OE-style axleback with a smaller resonator.

Nice choice of mods by the way.

It's not big, but I am very particular about the size of an exhaust for some reason lol. I just feel that the TRD is a bit smaller. Thanks btw, I hope I can get all of them done in time.

Just installed my plate relocator and VRD grilles. The quality of both of these parts are awesome. I am now currently looking to buy a trd exhaust, anzo tails, and raceland coilovers in the coming weeks. (Iphone pictures again btw, I will be using a real camera soon haha.)

Hey guys, haven't updated this in a while. I am now looking to buy a used trd exhaust from someone on the forums or from somebody that is local. After the exhaust, I wll probably get 05-07 tails and then save for coilovers. I cannot wait to get the exhaust, I really want the car to have a nice tone lol.

Installed my trd exhaust yesterday! I love the way it sounds on my car.

Not the best picture, but you get the idea. I am now looking to buy 05-07 tails in the next week or two. After that, my car is finally going to get some sort of a drop.
