Default People with CC short shifter...

When in neutral and when u move the shifter left to right, does the shifter return to the middle again like it did when it was stock? I installed my Creative Compacts SS this afternoon and i'm wondering if i did anything wrong. Also i noticed the shifter sits REAL low, is that how its supposed to be? Can it be adjusted? This is my first time installing a short shifter.

Thanks

Ya, it is about 2" lower. Though there should be purple spacers that came with the package. These go under the 4 feet of the shifter housing to raise it up like 3/8" or however tall. Might help if you think it's too low.

When I move it to the left it moved to the center OK... but it's not so fast to move back from the right. I'm just going to give it some time though... might add some more lube later... haha... lube.

Yours moved back to the center? Mine doesnt go at all and its tough to move left and right. Also, what kind of shift **** are you using? I have 3 different ones: the stock one, the CC one, and the greddy counterweighted one, but none seem to feel comfortable at all and they look funny. How do you put dem spacers in??

Just installed mine today. I also notice that the shifter feels a bit tighter than it used to. It is probably more friction due to a minute difference in the bearing sizes. Just grease them a bit more, thats all you can do unless you can figure out how to trim a couple nanometers off the bearing diameters.

In terms of length, you can either install the bearings, which are real easy to do. Just take the cage out by unscrewing the four bolts that seat it to the floorboard, then take each spacer and slide it under where each of the four holes are. Use the extended bolts that come with the package to secure the cage. This will raide the entire assembly about 3/8" higher.

Oops, forget the alternative to the shifter length. SInce the tip is threaded, just find a metal extension with female threads of equal size and screw is on top. The other end must have some threads so you can put the shifter back on. Its probably much easier to just use the spacer kit.

Check the gold bolt in the corner of the base in this pic:

The purple things go under the corners where that bolt goes through and the new bolts replace that one and the other 3.
