Default People with the stock sub question

Ok... for those who have the stock sub, where do you have the gain **** set? It sounds pretty good for hiphop and stuff, but for music with any sort of guitar-driven sound, the low end is so strong that it really unbalances the rest of the speakers...

I know JasonH mentioned that he was going to try and plug the port to tighten up the sound - anyone else do anything like this?

I keep it a little below the white dot.... I'm usually listening to electronic music, and it sounds great. I think it also depends on your audio and SSP settings

The little dot is like... directly to the right side. Is below the dot down? I haven't really messed with it yet.

Also, what audio and SSP settings do you use? I think the downfall of the head unit is that there is really no eqalizer - you can only adjust trebel and bass. I had it set to tC, but xA and xB seem to sound better - I think I have it on xA now. As for the SSP, Feel seems to be completely blown out, but Hear is ok, although it seems to really kill the mids - the trebel and bass are really loud. I wish it had a better EQ, but other than that, I'm thinking I should just keep it on normal most of the time.

mine is set a bit more clockwise of the dot, i think strait down, but i just use the treble bass settings, and the vehicle type to switch between

Xa= more treble
Xb= more bass
Tc= normal

if you look at the **** as a clock face, with the dot at three... then I keep mine between 3:30 and 4:00

SSP: xA, Feel

Audio: Bass = 0, Treb = +3

hope that helps

I use the exact same settings and I think it sounds pretty good. Honestly you can't beat the cosmetics of it and the sound is right up there. Better then the Rockford Fosgate sub I had in my SE-R Spec V.

That sounds about right. I think the trebel needs some help, but at least it shows up - the mid to low has a hard time keeping up with the sub, but maybe with the treb up that high and the bass down that low it will balance out. I just need to finish tweaking I guess.

one thing I forgot to mention.... every head unit seems to act differently. My first 6-disc I had to set the bass down to -3 with everything else the same. Now with my replacement one (original stopped reading discs), I have the bass on 0 to sound just as good

on a side note, the shade of the display colors seems to very as well
